Assassin + Staff of Magi

Post by TheHalflingBarb »

have people done this? this seems incredibly cheesey.. especially when teamed with the cloak of non-detection. this of course assumes that ur assassin have 'Use Any Item'. if not then a thief/mage will do the trick ;)

any comments on people who have done this?

p.s. does anyone else think that backstabbing with a staff seems.. i dont know.. wrong?

I didn't think you could backstab with a staff; doesn't it take a weapon that does piercing or slashing damage?
Jesus saves! And takes half damage!

No, any melee weapon usuable by a thief will do, including staves and clubs.

Strange... I tried to make a thief/mage a backstab with the staff and i got a message saying something about staff of the magi not suited for backstabbing...

You can't backstab with weapons wich are not allowed for thieves..

like using Carsomyr(with any weapon ability) wouldn't do the trick.. :(

funny, i played with an assasin and i was able to use carsomyr for back stabs (balthazar did not last very long :D ) i could go over 100. Well if i was lucky i'd get 100, usually id get 70-80...must e a bug

The Staff of the Magi isn't usuable by thieves although staves normally are. Two-handed swords like Carsomyr aren't usuable by thieves at all. UAI changes this but not the rules for backstabbing.
