taragarth in ust-natha

Post by Mirk »

i've run a search here and on the official boards, trying to find Taragarth +2, bastard sword. I've seen two replies that place it at one of the drow merchants in ust-natha, but no confirmation by any other than the poster himself.

now two qwestions:

1. has anyone found it (in ust-natha or anywere else)?

2. for those who have it - is it possible that the game does not allow for two non-detection items in your party - i.e. do you have the cloack of non-detection too? or any other reson nooot to sell it?

Thanx

This game is so vast(and has been offically modified by patches and addons so much) that to definitively state X is not true is a pretty big call. Having said that:

1.The sword Taragarth +2, bastard sword is not part of the offical game. It may be part of an add on or somebodies made it using an editor BUT it is NOT part of SOA/TOB.

2.I have had a whole party wearing cloaks of non-detection so I think you can have more than two things which do this effect in a party. - Curdis !

the thing is, the sword IS part of the official game. how do i know this: there are several BG2 sites that have it listed in the equipment section. shadowkeeper has it, too. there are couple of items (namely swords) that are, *difficult* to find. also, people said they bought it in Ust Natha!

oh, and how did you get all those cloaks? maybe i don't need the sword afterall...

Listed in shadow keeper (hmm if it was in a mod and you openned shadow keeper it would be in there? Don't have or use shadowkepper). Just as well I made that caveat about it being a big game! I have played alot and I have NEVER gotten that sword. To get any number of any item. Export a character which has the item. Start a new game (or an apropriate saved game) in multiplayer. Import the character(s) you want to use leave a slot spare, import the character with the item. Start game, move items around, boot stripped character, save repeat until everyone you want has what you want. Minimise the game move the save file from Multiplayer to Single player if you like . P.S. this is of course cheating - Curdis !

Wow... shadow keep would make cheating (AKA tweaking) a lot less time consuming... :)
