Ranger class

Post by Ferdinand »

Hi everyone!
I'm an average roleplayer (nor begginer, nor expert) and I need someone to tell me about ranger class; I'm thinking of playing a new game with ranger class so I want to know what are the benefits of having a ranger stronghold (do I get some money daily like fighters do), what ranger kit is the best or is it better to use a "pure" ranger, what statictics and in which weapons should I put the profienc. slots what stats should I boost and will I be able (as a ranger with good aligment) to take some of the bhaalspawn powers and not to change my aligment to evil (like Slayer form...)? I know it's a "bit" too long but if someone does have the nerves, please reply.

Thanks! :D

IMHO the fighter stronghold is the best. The ranger stronghold isn't great. Not bad, but not great either. And no weekly stipend.
There are some nice quests that go with being a ranger.
Kits: Personally I like the stalker best, since he can backstab AND melee. Katanas are good for stalkers.
Other people like the archer because of the bonuses he gets when using a bow.
The beastmaster is a bit underpowered, heavy restrictions in using weapons (only wooden ones) and his strong points (summoning animals) aren't that strong. But then again, I found that playing a char that's not too powerful can be fun too.
Every class can use the Bhaalspawnpowers but keep in mind that turning into the Slayer costs you 2 rep points. Rangers (and paladins)lose their abilities if their rep gets too low.
All in all, rangers are a nice class to play. Have fun.
