Mail of the Dead -- Help!

Post by maverick214 »

I have tried several times of redoing Irenicus' Prison 1 to get the Mail of the Dead +2 off of Illyich but he doesnt ever seem to drop it. Is it a random drop? I even tried starting a new game and even created a new character when I started a new game but he isnt dropping it. Anyone have any ideas? The reason why I keep doing it is the first time I played I got it but I forgot to save so now when Im trying to do it all again he doesnt drop the armor... Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks..

Even the greatest of games have their flaws :(

But really, Mail of the Dead +2 isnt that good.

Isn't the Mail of the Dead on him only if you import a BG1 character that has it?

I've seriously run through Irenicus' dungeon thrice, and the Mail has always dropped for me. It's probably a small bug where an item doesn't drop, like some people having complained that Frost Giant girdle isn't dropping.

If you reload the game and it doesn't drop, I'd advise trying CLUAConsole or Shadowkeeper to put it in. Dirty, but a solution if it doesn't drop.

Is this the same Chainmail of the Dead +2 that you get from some dude that tries to kill you near Gullykin in BG1? Just asking cause I'm going through BG again as a solo bard(thanks the gods for Algernoon's Cloak) and I just picked it up. Just curious.

The same. So you can't cast spells with it on.

The early part of the game has a few BG1 items scatered about- that purple sword vs shapeshifters for instance. As Imoen says all your gear has been sold, I guess you'd be likely to find a few bits here and there.

In single player I always get the Chainmail of the dead +2, but when I tried it multiplayer with a friend of mine it didn't drop, we started over again and still no drop. That's when I decided that multiplayer wasn't my cup of tea, I was a paladin and wasn't sure that Firkraag would drop... yes... no spoilers here, no sir. :)
