Goody topic closed

Post by Equis »

Hello all!

I apologize, but I had to close the "Goody" topic, because the e-mail reply function was spamming our mail boxes with unsendable mail.

There is a possibility that we can disable the mail send and then we can re-open the thread, but until then it will have to be closed.

See, I told you all earlier.

Goody is dead. Long live Goody.

Well maybe the problem can be fixed.

Thanks for the info though...

Ok, Equis, I saw you already closed it down ... I was a bit worried that it couldn't be re-opened, but I'm happy to read it is possible.

For a moment, I was thinking that Sleepy had a hotmail account. As it is, yesterday many Microsoft sites seemed to be down, including Hotmail. But he hasn't got a Hotmail account listed, so it must indeed be an other problem.

Perhaps his boss found out, and now mail from GB is bounced? Sleepy has been fired, so his e-mail account has been deleted? Anything?

The only one who can answer that is Sleepy himself ... let's hope he checks in here, sometime soon, and can help us all out on this one. By the way, when is the last time he posted?

Not that I've either read (1400 posts!) or participated in the goody thread, but I have a simple question:

Will the problem recur if you simply open a NEW thread and title it "Goody, Continued" or something similar? Just make the email reply function is not used, if I understand that correctly as the problem.....

The problem lies with Sleepy, not Goody. The point is that whenever a message is posted in a topic, the CREATOR of the topic receives an e-mail, in case of the Goody topic, this is Sleepy. However, there appears to be something wrong with his e-mail, and therefore e-mail sent his way is bounced, and returned to Gamebanshee.

Now imagine the flow into Goody, and therefore the feedback to the Moderators and Bucky ... that's why it has been closed down for now. We could start a Goody 2 (shoes), and continue where we left off, but I'd suggest we wait a little longer for Sleepy to get back and clear things out for us.

So sleepy has recieved over 1400 emails from the goody postings, huh? No wonder there seems to be a problem with his email.....

I wonder if they're undeliverable or if sleepy is automatically deleting/returning them... Image

Maybe his company got swamped with emails and they sacked him! Poor Mr S, hope that isn't the case.

He'll pop up no doubt saying "the reports of my demise have been greatly exaggerated!"

Heh.

Goody was a nice place to spam...er I mean post meaningful ideas, but there appear to be many more manageable replacements - chrissy's is doing fine.

Yes, first I will replace Sleep and then I'll take over the world...

Why does everybody think I'm trying to compete with Goody? (How can I help it that I'm so popular? Image)

Anyway, I'd say good place to spam it in the Speak your mind forum. Lots of nonsence is going on there. But I'll have to ask you all to ignor a certain topic created by Ubik. (Thank you for your assistence. Image)

Oh, why should she? I mean I am a fine example of a good husband - and far more to it Image

I prefer Berlin... never been in Manhatan, how is it? In the films it looks... crowded and noisy (daytimes, at least) Image

Never been to Manhattan either, I suggest just dropping a bomb on it and see what happens. (would seriously damage the world's population, very crowded indeed...)

Berlin it is then, but promise me we'll take a warm city next. Image

I think Drakron would like us coming to Portugal more ubik. Anyway, I always wanted to visit the Great wall, it would be nice to be able to say I was the LAST person that ever saw it... Image

Drakron, you don't need to find Bush jr. All you need is some handy dandy passwords and lots of money. (or good looks... nahnahnahnahnah(in singsong voice))

I will have you all know that Bush jr was in the same place as Babbon and I last night and had drunk one too many and could not escape with us. Babbon wants to come up with a plan to break him out... Image
