hi,
can anyone help me out of a little rut i'm in in Trials of Luremaster? I've been teleported to Anaurouch...I met the spirit at the portcullis to the castle keep entrance who gives the poem/quest about the 4 towers. i've cleared out the 4 towers, pushed the 4 levers, cleared out the second levels in each tower that then open up, cleared out the chapel...etc.etc. yet when i go back to the castle keep entrance to the portcullis is locked and the spirit is nowhere to be seen...
does the answer have something to do with the paladin in the west tower? should i have killed him before clearing out the level below him ?
*sigh* this is probably the first time i've been seriously stuck since the original pool of radiance waaay back when and it's a little annoying ...i'd appreciate any tips anyone could give me...
thanks,
j

When you say you cleared out the chapel do you mean the entire crypt? Did you pick up the tales of the watchknights? Have you used them in any way?

hey t'lainya,
the chapel: i may have missed the crypt...in the chapel i cleared out the spiders, and got a book /journal of accounts by a cleric. the only other things of note in the room were a large round disc behind the altar and a vessel of reddish liquid which i could open like a chest, but which contained no items...i must have missed the entrance to the crypt somehow
as for the tales of the watchknights: after clearing out the lower level on each of the 4 towers, i was given one by the spirit ...beyond reading them, i did not know i could use them...
thanks,
j

thanks, t'lainya
ah, the chapel and our friend Helm...
i was so concerned with the levers (i was dreading some kind of "trial and error, find which sequence to push the levers" kind of nonsense) that i overlooked the chapel, and the cleric's journal.
i probably would've been putzing around forever if you hadn't clued me in on the chapel.
so... found the crypt and a good battle (a mad dash through the long skeleton warrior corridor to rescue a party member who'd been teleported by a crypt thing and then rendered hopeless by mummies...and then a mad dash back again to catch the whole lot of them in doorways with fireballs and spike spells)...
but anyway...
thanks,
j

Aaah, doing it yourself is so much more rewarding than a big spoiler. Nice one T'. Good work Gruulbasker.
