Newbie question: 2 characters - same class/stats - wildly different hit points?

Post by ranger101 »

I started 2 rangers with 18 Con (str, dex and wis as well). Same race, same alignment. I think racial enemy may have been different.

One had 86 hit points, the other had 53. 53 seems awful low.

How come?

The HPs for each character are chosen randomly (via a computer rendition of "dice") with the exception if you start a new game in the easiest mode, if you do that all characters are maxed out on HPs

So if you start on easy, then change to insane, you will still have maxed hp? Or can I change the difficulty just before I level up?

You can set it to easy just before you level up, get max HPs, then reset it to insane and retain those HPs.

I've always gotten max HPs on normal level as well.

astafas is right

Yep, if you see the rules (displayed for example in the options screen), you can see that in easy as well as normal you will get max HP when levelling up.
(don't mix up normal with standard though ;) )
