Demi-Lich!!! Gosh how do you beat him!?

Post by leeman_s »

Sorry I know Kangaxx has already been posted but I'm stuck specifically on Demi-Lich. After Kangaxx dies, I have full health. Then this Demi Lich comes. I'm soloing so I have only one guy. Demi Lich does 'Demi Lich Howl' or Imprisonment and it's all over. Every time. I have 47% magic resistance, belt of inertial barrier, scarlet scimitar, girdle of stone giant strength, amulet of power, pale green loun stone, daystar, nishru scroll. As you see, I'm pretty well equipped. I'm a level 14 monk soloing and don't know how to get this Demi Lich. I really need help, I want the ring of gaxx without cheating! Thanks.

I'm not too familiar with the scarlet scimitar but provided that it is +4 or better, go to ribald's adventure mart and purchase the scroll protection from magic, cast it on yourself just as the lich dies, prior to the changing into the demi. you will have 10 turns of magic immunity to kill him.

Arg, then...

I need a +4 weapon somewhere in Athkatla! One that a monk can use. A longsword maybe? Any +4 longswords in Athkatla?

Have you done the trademeet quest yet? There is a longsword that you get from one of the druids that works.

Well, considering your last post, you were level 12, and you did some small quests...I would really wait until Chapter VI.

You should try to get some mage to cast summonings to prolong the imprisonments. I remember you stay away just when he turns into the demilich, then when he has his targets locked, you will have to try to kick his butt in 5 rounds or you're history. May I suggest you do some quest and level up more, I think your fist is +4 eventually...

You can buy a +4 staff from Ribald. With ToB installed you can also buy a +4 short sword at Watcher's keep.

In my experience magic resistance won't help against demi-liches (the other demilich killed me once altough I had 100%).

Another good way is to summon in an Efreeti or (normal) Fire elementals when Kangaxx turns Demi. They can hit him but they aren't portected by by Imprisonment.

If you got the Efreeti bottle from Trademeet this is a good place to use it.

I don't know I used the Ring of The Ram with the slayer change to beat the Demilich, not sure if that helps though.
I care not for endings or beginnings, but for the eternal and infinite spaces of the universe, and for the endless exploration of eternity, and mysteries which I will find plumbing the infinite depths.

"Do not turn inward to find peace and wisdom, turn outward instead to find liberation from the narrow boundaries of self", quote from Gary Paul Nabhan, paraphrased of course

"When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong" quote from Arthur C. Clarke, thought it was interesting.

Tips on living longer: eat right, exercise, and yes castrate yourself, eunuchs live longer then normal people.
