"Aegis - I hope today is a better day for you *hug*
For the record, I have broken the scaphoid bone in my hand on a punchbag (I use to train in martial arts) 8 weeks in plaster, and 4 weeks in a futura splint - no fun...and yes, it was my right hand
I recommend hard shoes and kicking something - Doc Martins are good for this!

All the insults mean they don't like you right?Well if they weren't best friends, it now means you can, return the favour and not be botherd. The frezzin rain give you an excuse for either an extra shower or an hour sitting next to a radiator. And the Hand... as some one said it's a stress relever, also what happens if those not-so friendly people trample(or other Really REALLY nasty things) on your hand, well it's your left hand and your right hand will be better by then.Originally posted by Aegis
Well, today, I have been rejected, insulted, shot down, criticized, accused of being spoiled, and been caught walking home in freezing rain. to top it all off, I got extremly frustrated, and put a hole through the wall, and now have bloody knuckles. I've had a wonderful day. how have yours been?
The only good thing about having your right hand in a cast is that you get a lot of practice using your left. I'm pretty decent at playing DiabloII with my left hand, using the scroll wheel for skill selection. Worst part is scrubbing your left armpitOriginally posted by Aegis
The only problem is is that it's my right hand, and I'm right handed. Thus it causes problems.
@Ysh: Ok, punch bag is off, Martens it is. Too bad I'm the one that gets to fix the holes...

Depends on the door... Those paper-waffer indoor doors are hardly worth the effort. Solid wooden doors are better (and hurt more when you hit them). But then, the wooden ones don't break as easily *glares at kitchen door*Originally posted by Yshania
@Silur - you fix holes?Great!! I thought I might have to buy a new door!

Well I've had a nice week actually - seeing as I last thirsday was in a traffic accident that could have been fatal, (got hit by a car door while riding my bike home, after wich I got thrown out into the road where I was hit by a large lorry).Originally posted by Aegis

But I was extreemly lucky (and partial thanks to clearheaded thinking) so I got with minor bruises (well although they still take up a large portion of my body) and some cuts.
So this past week nothing really has been able to put me down.
Some people have luck in games, other in love - I have in traffic accidents - and right now - that was the only place I wanted it.
Sorry to hear about your day though, I know how hard it can be when everything goes against you.

I can't say whether or not Doc Martins are good for this, but I can confirm that high heels are not good for this. *sighs at the hole in the wall, but more importantly at the broken shoe in her closet*Originally posted by Yshania

Well speaking of lucky accidents (in a way)...
Last summer I went horseback riding in a ranch near my house.
I bought myself twenty hour long rides in which I could just take the horse in the forest and mountains nearby.
Anyway, on the 19th time I was there, I took a horse and started riding, and then I started galloping. What I didn't know was, that the guy there didn't tighten the saddle enough, so when I took a left turn, the saddle tilted to the right, and I fell off.
When I got to the hospital, I was told that I was very "lucky" to use my reflexes, and that I put my hands in front of me when I fell. That way I only broke my right arm and all the fingers on my lft arm, unlike what happend to Christofer Reeves, who broke his spine and is paralysed.
Because I was so "lucky" I got o spend with both my hands in casts for a month, and my right hand in a cast for an additional month. It's hard for me to see my luck.
Anyway, that was a wonderful day, because not only did I have two casts on, but I also missed a trip to the US scedualed for five days after that!

I know a girl who was in a motorcycle accident when she was 19, she's paralyzed from the shoulders and below. So I think you were very lucky indeed - bones heal, the spinal cord does not!
The latter is sort of a prerequisite for the first two - you have to live to be lucky in love and moneyOriginally posted by Xandax

Oh, that's a scary accident, a pity you missed the trip to the US. Breaking both arms is of course very bad, but still a million times better than getting paralyzed for the rest of your life. Imagine what life in a wheelchair is likeposted by Morlock

I don't know if youv'e had something like that before, but I think you'll agree, that when you break your hands- its hard to see youself lucky, in any way, shape or form.

I understand it's difficult when you sit there with both your arms in big packets. I however, view things a bit differently, I've had some pretty bad climbing accidents in the past and I've actually always considered myself lucky compared to what might have happened. Everything that heals without severe consequences like permanent disability, I view as acceptable although annoyingOriginally posted by Morlock

@Xan&Mor, ya'll are quite lucky that your incidents didn't turn out worse.
I, myself, am lucky that I've never been seriously injured myself or broken any bones, unless you count a concussion I got from banging my head against the wall.
I've certainly had plenty of oppurtunity to get injured, including a wreck that totalled our car
, though I came out better than anyone else in the wreck and I was the only not wearing a seatbelt.
