The Fate of Nalia?

Post by Ravune »

POSSIBLE SPOILER...

I've recently purchased ToB and I've played 50% of the game, I have Nalia with me and my PC keeps making comments about how different she seems, also she keeps talking about how powerful she is becoming. Is there a sub-plot where Nalia becomes evil? I really want to know because I think that would be interesting, it would add depth to a very annoying character. Thanks

The only 2 NPCs with possible alignment changes are Viconia (Lawful Neautral(?) and Sarevok (Chaotic Good).

If you really want to spoil yourself, go to the Gamebanshee site and the BG2 NPC's page, it will hold the final outcome to all the NPC's.
(I had a tear in my eye after reading Cernds and Keldorns *sniff*)

But I suggest you dont. One of the things that makes BG such an outstanding RPG is the diversity and depth of the NPCs

So I just stood and listened.

Agreed... its the main thing, IMO, that makes BG(2) worth replaying.

Being an Evil Overlord seems to be a good career choice. It pays well, there are all sorts of perks and you can set your own hours. However every Evil Overlord I've read about in books or seen in movies invariably gets overthrown and destroyed in the end. I've noticed that no matter whether they are barbarian lords, deranged wizards, mad scientists or alien invaders, they always seem to make the same basic mistakes every single time. Therefore, if I ever happen to become an Evil Overlord, ...

Actually, there was supposed to be extra story leading to a possible alignment change for both Nalia and Korgan, in addition to Sarevok and Viconia.

Korgan had extra banter with Mazzy, if she was in the party, that led up to something of a romance between them... which would have changed his alignment.

I came up with the idea to darken Nalia not only because she was too saccharine to begin with ("For the needy"? Ick... I changed that quick) but to give an evil player a bit of opportunity rather than just have evil characters turning good.

At any rate, those plots, like the Valygar romance, got cut for lack of time. Ah, well.

Thanks, David. We appreciate the info. It's not the kind of thing you can find out by playing the game, or maybe reading tea leafs. ;)
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

*wistful sigh* :D

Was there also an intention for Haer Dalis and Imoen to have some kind of romance in ToB? I was watching my son play last night, and was quite shocked to see HD actively hitting on Imoen..... :D ROFL !

I am curious, has anyone else encountered this dialogue?

No, there was no intention of a romance between Haer'Dalis and Imoen. We had a blast writing the banters, as I recall, and when I was writing Imoen's banter the idea of how she would react to a come-on from the tiefling struck my fancy.

I also rather liked Korgan making a pass at a female PC, though I didn't write that one. :)

Thanks!

Thanks for replying to my post, I think it would be cool to create a mod that would include all the romance possibilities that were cut out from the game. Nalia would be an excelent choice to modify.

The problem is that these conversations are random, so, sometimes, they dont show up

to make sure that you have all the conversations with your sinbilings, Instal Ascension, play it, and, if you choose the right conversations,... well, play and see....

Or, you can enable cluaconsole and keep pressing ctrl+i, and each time, this should force a random conversation (try this with different npcs... some interactions are great, such as one that keldorn has with sarevok and many others...)
