Never seen that happen ... I can imagine two things here:

- Auto-save game somehow corrupt, writing to it for a new autosave results in failure. I recommend you run scandisk on your HD (not surface scan though, just the 'normal' option), and see if there's an error on the disk or something.
- Check your amount of free disk space WHILE PLAYING the game. Use alt-tab to switch back to windows with the game still active, open the Windows Explorer, and check the free HD space on the HD with the game, as well as the disk which holds your windows swap file. Either harddisk should still have plenty (eg 200+ MB) free disk space.

If neither of these 2 is the case, did you try uninstalling, and then reinstalling? Did you patch your game?

I believe your right Maurice... Magus run into something close to this. His game would take 10 minutes or longer to load..Corrupt file in the auto save I believe is what caused this.

Two ways I know around this...

1. Go back to a previous save. or

2. Talk to Magus or Itldrng6 and let them explain how they got around this.

Yes I have the same problem it happens every 20-30th time. I have 9 GB free. I haven't been able to find the problem but it is "nice" to hear that I am not the only one (no affiance) Guess we will just have to write that down as a charm of the game Image
