It's a hack/n/slash fest with little (and I mean very little) role-playing or problem-solving. If that were it, it would be fine. However, it is extremely buggy, even after three patches. Save after every battle, as it has the tendency to dump you to windows at random times. However, if you go in with your eyes open to these problems, it's reasonably good for what it offers.

Disadvanges:

Buggy (the latest patch works pretty nice though for most cases), no roleplay, some elements from 3E D&D are not working the way they should, almost no character development (many things are just implimentent after a character gains a level).

Advantages:

Great spell effects, vast number of items, the use of 3E d&d on the multi-class, and if you like fighting your way out you too often will get the chance to do so. :)

Also the game works with a turn-base combat system, so i cannot say that this is good or bad, it's just what you like thought is kind of slow sometimes. Comparing it with BG games will get you very dissapointed so see it as a different game. Overall its a good game.

After my first weekend with this game I have to say I like it . I really like the turn based combat . 3rd ed is taking some gettingused to it is like a new rpg system . Its not very AD&D . But the game is fun and keeps me comming back . Ive had no crases but this could be because i'm using windows 2000 . Ive seen several games run way better in win2000 (less buggy ) . Anyway this game if it was in devlopment a little longer would have been great (adding all classes ) . The effects in this game are great

The game seems o.k to me but not near as good as
Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale.

Since this game bears the marks of D&D and Forgotten Realms we could not help our selfs from compare it with BG games, doing so as i have said many times might get us very dissapointed because is nothing nearer to BG games. It is just a good D&D dungeon crawler game with some nice aspects(could have been much better IMO if Ubi Soft wanted) and nothing more.

I really like the DM aspect of the game it is very PnP . I like being able to listen at doors to hear what mosters are saying and the dicriptions of rooms . It brings me back to PnP games . It is a fun game but could have been better. But for the 20 dollars I payed for it. its a blast .
