drizzit's items partial spoiler
after i killed drizzit's party and stole his items i went and killed bodi. when i left her hideout a wizard came and said that he wanted drizzit's items back. Of course i said no but he just took them anyway and dissapeared. is there any way to meet this wizard again or to kill him at the initial meating.

But he has *your* tattoo, the one of the three nuns and the duck. You really should watch whom you show that to, you know.Originally posted by Aegis:

I don't think Drizz't's parties items are that overpowered, anyway. I think the only reason i would want them is if I was a druid for the scimitars, other than that I think better stuff is available. I always just sell all the stuff. That way Harpell doesn't show up. The bladesinger chain is way better than Drizz'ts.

I have an idea... havn't tried it though.
Drop drizzt's stuff before you go inside bodhi's lair (probs better to put it in a chest in the tomb next door. If the wizzie shows up only after Bodhi, he won't show up cuz you don't got the items on you, then just go collect them and enjoy .
I hope this works. Plz tell me what happens when you try.

I'd use the defender if I had a dual wielding druid in the party. Drizzt is pretty tough one-on-one, he does a lot of damage, he's quick and he heals himself.Originally posted by Xyx:

I had one fight where I took on Drizzts party and the wizard that comes looking for Edwina at the same time. That was fun, I think that Drizzts party doesn't have a strong wizard so it's neat to have one there.
My last party was always struggling for cash for some reason - I think cause my rep was always 8 or so, so even though I stole a lot of stuff, I had to cough up big dough at the adv. mart and the bonus merchants. (I didn't do the steal sell back trick, although I did steal stuff from some merchants and sell to the thieves guild, but not all that much - seems reasonable, that's what a fence is for

I believe there's no easy work-around for Malchor. He's scripted to appear any time you have some of Drizzt's party's items on you (actually wearing them), no matter how often he's been around already.
On subsequent visits, he gets more and more annoyed, and will eventually Imprison the whole party in one go! How's that for cheese?
<rant>
Don't you just hate these cheap deus ex machina bail-outs? I mean, send The Most Noble Order of the Radiant Heart after me for killing Drizzt, or the (real) Harpers or something. Anything is better than (almost) blatantly telling the player something sensible isn't going to happen, period, because of supposed game balance issues.

Rot Melchor Rot!!!
Argh, read this after posting my note on the same question!
I guess there's no way to beat the game but I think its really CHEAP how they make it impossible by having you confront something you can't beat because they put something not balanced in the game
If you try to kill him after you give him the EQ he's unkillable btw. *mutter*
Its sort of like what happens if you try to kill Sarevok in BG1 when he showed up as Koveras (I mean its not that hard to spell his name back to front). He does get affected and doesn't fight. Its like the game is pretending something doesn't exist because it doesn't know what to do. *grumble*
Of course I still play the darn thing!!!

Somewhere I read that it was possible to kill the "immortals" via polymorphing your mage/sorceror to a mind flayer and draining out their intelligence. Has anyone successfully tried that?
I still have to play through SoA with an evil party, but when I do, I'll make sure I test my steel against Drizzt. It sort of goes with the alignment, no?

Yeah, I killed Melchor Harpell outside Bodhis lair. Timestop and then shapechange into a mindflayer. But it took me 3 tries as he starts speaking right after he teleports in, and then it's too late. You have to time your timestop (haha) very carefully..
Anyway, after I killed him I thought "cool, I got him". Not that I really wanted the stuff, I just wanted to see if I could do it.
But when I travelled to another citymap, he reappeared...how grand...
So the conclusion is that you can kill him - once, twice as many times as you like, but he keeps coming back..so you can't use the weapons, unless he doesn't show up in Suldanessellar and ToB...
