Thieves? MODS?

I can't be the only one who thinks the lack of a decent thief NPC is one of the biggest problems with BG2 (other than the eternally irritating Jan). . .

So, anyone have any good ideas/stories of mods they've made to "fix" this? (I usually only like to use one PC). I know about the keeping Yoshi exploit (still remember my first time thru. . .thought he was a great character. . .what a waste of XPs.)

I've overriden Nalia's ring to give her 100% in locks/find traps, but that just didn't seem cool. Also overriden Mazzy to a chaotic evil fighter/thief, changed her bio to explain her "holier-than-thou" dialog to a head wound (as in Minsc). But there's that way halflings "waddle" in BG2 that makes me not take the seriously. . .

I'm starting a new game with a ranger-to-cleric dual as my PC, thinking about trying Viconia as a cleric/thief (great DEX) this time, but there's an alignment problem (I can't see her as anything other than evil).

So I guess this is all to ask. . .has anyone made/does anyone know of a good created NPC to download as a thief? I've tried out the Darkest Day, so I know about Monty and that other guy, but it was too buggy.

I guess I could make one myself, maybe a Shadow Thief who joins your party when you side with them. . .but that's no different than playing multi-player.

If you're mainly interested in Find Traps and Open locks, what´s wrong with Imoen?

Another way to edit Nalia is to make her a level 6 thief (using ShadowKeeper) and redistributing her thief skills, giving her 100 % in FT and OL.

Manveru modded some BG2 NPCs to make them joinable, and also some old BG1 friends, amogst them Coran, Skie, Alora, lot of thieves ...
They are not fully developed and have few dialogs, but I feel this is a better solution (from a roleplay point of view) than a MP party. Or just make 2 chars : your "real" PC and a thief ?
