Hello adventurers!
This is my first post to the forum and I hope someone can help me.
I have played (doings almost all the subquests) till the Return to Candlekeep. I started getting the infinite movie repeats and none of the suggested fixes work. I managed to battle through to the 2nd floor of library(no movie repeats here), but although I have tried various gameplay tacts (kill/don't kill Brunos Rieltar & Co, take ring/don't take ring from Koveras, talk to everyone....), I just can't get arrested and transported on the 6th floor. The gatewarden tells me someone wants to speak to me in the outer grounds....but there is no one there. I always talk to Cadderly on the way into the library- can't avoid him.
What's going on? Can some one help!
Can't get arrested in Candlekeep Library
Try getting Bruno and company to give their "eavesdropping" speech and then go to the top floor. The gatewarden will tell you to see someone in the outer grounds. Then initiate dialogue with the gatewarden yourself again. Hope this works. Let me know if it does (worked for me yesterday).

Make sure you have the most recent patch. Also, even with the patch, you can still encounter problems if you're playing in multi-player mode. If that's your case, move your savegame from the MPSave directory to the Save directory and play in single-player mode to get past this point.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...
What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.
