why can't Jaheira recieve the effects of Boots of Speed.
I just got the ones from Saradush, so I guess maybe this should be in ToB, but it's not the actual boots that are buggy. It's just Jaheira. She can equip ant boots of speed, but never receives the speed bonus or the portrait icons...why? is there a patch for it?

Does she have any magic items on her, that grants free movement (for example Ring of free action?) If so, remove such items and try again (items giving free movement neglect the effect of boots of speed).Originally posted by frogus

For what it's worth, there's also a bug you can exploit that let's characters wear both free movement and speeding items: just equip the speeding item first, then add the free movement one. You'll have a character who acts under the influence of Haste, but also avoids the spells that slow or stop movement.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
Thnks for the tip.Originally posted by fable

FYI: I just noticed somewhat similar situation with items that have ability requirements and items that have ability penalties; for example Anomen (str 18/52) can wield both Hammer of Thunderbolts (req. 18 strength) and Shield of Balduran (-1 pen to strength), if the hammer is equipped first.
