Too bad...almost had game equivalent of killsw01

Post by UserUnfriendly »

Was in the copper coronet last night, realized I forgot to cheat in jonluv and did so, and while looking at his inventory my eyes fell on kachiko's wakisashi...

drains 2 wisdom for two rounds with a save for death magic....

if without death magic save, this would be the most evil and lethal wep in the game!!!!

the mind flayer shapechange trick of draining int will work on anything..except possibly the sewege golem in irenicus dungeon,

:D :D

but draining a stat, not hp, but stat like wistom, str or anything like that will kill any thing in the game, including unkillables like imoen before chapter 3.

so what I was thinking, korgy, profs in katana, hit greater whirlwind and instant corpse. however, the number of creatures who makes save in death magic really high are just too many... think undead, I think they make automatically. and I am pretty sure liches do too...

what a great idea down the toilet...the two rounds drain and save makes vorpal weps more attractive in comparison, think ravager with no save....

but was nice to dream korgy and firkraag....should still work, but the qyestion is do I want to waste profs on katana when I need him in axe or halberd?

naahhh....

the save vs death is the real kicker.. sigh.

I believe Haer'Dalis' Chaos Sword drains dexterity with no save...

His sword does drain Dex BUT it lasts for 5 rounds. :o Usually not enough time for HD to hit the monster to actually kill him from dex drain. Interesting idea though. Anyone know how long the Wisdom drain lasts on that wakisashi?

Oh and a little problem with Korgan putting points into Katana to use a wakisashi anyway... :o :D :p

An Improved Hasted Haerry in Offensive Spin should be able to deal 4 Chaos Blade hits per round, right? That's 2 rounds needed to kill almost everything.

maybe he is not so bad after all...naahhh... still think the best offense is a pattern of dealy action fireballs in a good pattern, designed to get monster wherrever he moves....

sorry, I enjoy blasting with sorcery everything in the game...

did not know about the sex drain (oops noticed typo, decided to not correct it.). very interesting, ran harrys dialog in the game last night, he's still a smug git, but jan takes the annoyance out of him....

This was one of my major goals, as soon as I learned of the existence of "use any item." It was for my bard, of course. I stole the blade from harry, used Scarlet Ninja_to off-hand, cast imp. haste and yes, stuff died lickity split. The big problem? It's only +2 weapon. If stuff needs +3 or greater (i.e. big baddie) the drain does not work.

As a side note, if you steal the chaos blade from Harry in SOA, then call him back in TOB, he's still got the Chaos blade! So you can steal that one from him as well, leaving u to dual-wield chaos blades. Actually, better than a single character wielding them, get:

1) Fighter wielding chaos blade #1 with belm off hand. Maximize attacks with proficiencies, etc. 5 attacks/round before haste = 8 dex drain. If he's improved hasted, everything hitteable by +2 weapons dies in 1 round (10 attacks, 8 with Chaoes blade, 16 dex drain in 1 round, ow). BTW the drain goes through stoneskin and protections.

2) Bard/Fighter weilding chaos blade #2 with Scarlet Ninja-to or Kundane. Same deal, maybe only 4 attacks/round. Keep this dude imp. hasted. He'll drain 3*2*2=12 dex/round.

If these two gang up on anything at all, it drops in one round easily. Everything else dies in 1.5 rounds or less regardless of hitpoints, spell protections, etc. IF (and big if here) IF it can be hit by +2 weapons.

I tried it on Melissan and am sorry to say the weapon is ineffective.

An improved hasted fighter with 10 attacks per round kills anything in one round without draining abilityscores anyway. But I guess it is cool to drop Adamantitegolems in a couple of hits.

Yea well, Harry still has pretty bad Thaco and anything he can hit with Chaos isn't usually worth killing using dex drain. You could however try improved haste + tensors but thats too much preparation just to kill something with dex drain that Harry could just as easily kill with shortsword of mask or something.
