I am looking to start a romance with Jaheira that I can carry into ToB. A few questions:
1. Aerie is hitting on me. How long can I play along with her and still get dialogue with Jaheira
2. Should I try to "complete" the romance before Spellhold/Underdark? I want to go there as soon as I get $15,000, but I don't want to screw up the romance. I heard that romances turn off as soon as you get to spellhold.
Thanks
Romances, in general

Each of the ladies will force you to choose at some point, although I believe someone managed to keep all three at the same time by keeping them out of each others' sight at crucial moments.

I don't believe that's possible. I've never noticed LOS making a difference to the arguments.

I never tried this myself, but the dialogs require the other girls to be "valid for party dialog". What exactly "validates" someone is unknown to me, though. Perhaps a well-timed Maze, Polymorph or Hold spell will do, perhaps you need to kill them.

Well we know that in ToB being Imprisoned no longer breaks the romances, so if having ToB installed does the same for SoA, there's your answer......
Here's a question actually. I've never played a game where less than two of the romances were in my party. If you only have one, does the romance continue as normal, or do you get some extra dialogue to replace the lost argument?
I found Aerie rather disturbing. One minute she's asking about whether she's fighting right, the next she's calling you "My love".

No matter what you do, you will not be able to have more then one romance running at the same time, without changing the script files. This is because as soon as one of the RomanceActive variable turns to 2, the others will change to 3 - unless you change the script; so you might as well get the Multi-Romance script.
If you only get one romance, you will not get the interuption where you have to choose between them. You don't miss anything or get any new one.
