Tanova in Bodhi Quest

Post by Outlaw03 »

I'm getting a serious cavity-search by her every time I fight her. She's chilling in the hallway just before the room with the stakes. I do my best to set up my characters prior to facing her, and nothing seems to work.

1)I tried summoning a boatload of animals, Elementals, et al, and she wipes them out pretty quickly and comes running to kick my arse.

2)I tried HIS with my thief, walk into range of Tanova, and have my mages cast a bunch of dispel magics and THIS certainly doesn't seem to work.

3)I tried the old hack-n-slash, and I lasted long enough to say "You gotta be kidding me".

I've got a fairly well-balanced party of fighters, mages, thieves. I'd just like to know if anyone has a better way of dealing with this chick WITHOUT CHEATS.

My only alternative that I haven't tried yet is to go purchase a ton of NORMAL ranged weapons (since all I have is magical stuff, and Tanova is IMMUNE to magical weapons and I can't dispel magic on her).

I just need a fresh prospective! My overwhelming gratitude to whomever replies.

I'm kinda miffed because just about all my other battles have been enough to handle (not necessarily easy, but managable), but now I can't even get more than one or two hits in. It drives me nuts when games do that. :D

Regards,
Outlaw

Use True Sight to dispel any Invisibility/Mislead spells she has active. Use Breach to take down her Combat Protections. Protect your party members with Chaotic Commands and Death Ward - if you've got a cleric. Use False Dawn and/or the Sunray ability from the Daystar sword to fry her. IIRC, you need +3 weapons or better to hit her. Use Protection from Undead scrolls on your weaker characters.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

Damn, I had to do it with a solo mage!
(kensai/mage with inactive kensai abilities!).
In the end I went invisibile, moved close to her, and fired a lightning bolt straight against the wall. A couple of reflections,
and dead Tanova!!
This trick is always my last resource!! :D

well, expect the user to have the cheesy tech for tanova

if youre in during daylight hours, cast farsight to spot her position and keep her visible. otherwise this trick when used turns her into a bat.

at the entrence cast 1 inc cloud as far as you can see. this will fry her and her little buddy fledgling vampire, and you can watch her death agonies with farsight...

unless she sights you you are completly safe.
They call me Darth...

the way i did her last time:

- say hello and retreat quickly
- cloak, walk up to her (wear cloak of non-detection)
- take a break til protection from magical weapons wears off (4 rounds)
- cast true sight with someone else if she has any illusion
- backstab to hell

worked fine, with just one char (used valygar). hit, run around corner, cloak, repeat til shes dead. as she doesnt do melee attacks if u r quick enough (dunno if she would otherwise), no need for amulet of power/MoD.
Truth suffers from too much analysis

Hast, Keldorn cast True Sight, Negative plane protection and chaotic command on myfighters, cast insect plague, and use breach to remove spell protections. Then, have fighters engage, while my mages cast lower resistance and magic missle.
