New respect for spellcasters.

Post by Obsidian »

Well, I never really was a fan of wizards etc, but for this run through TDD, I have 2 bards (my PC and H'D) Aerie, Nalia, Minsc and Yoshimo.

The ability to have 4 sets of Magic Missile fly off in one volley and then have my 2 bards attack is well, impressive. Assuming the average damage of a MM is 3, and all of the get 5, thats 15 damage per char, x 4 = 60! 60 damage in less than a round, and I can do it about 3 times. Then nalia and aerie can sit back and bombard them with bow and slings along with some heavy spell casting. It is sooooo good. I never knew magic was so powerful, even whn I soloed a Sorc.
The waves came crashing in like blindness.
So I just stood and listened.

try triple chain earthquakes together. you can kill most dragons with one cast.

my first run thru with tob is with sorc led party, with project image and 4 planetars summoned, you can have entier party just shoot off missiles while they take down monkey boy.

arcane spells are the most dangerous weapons in the game, bar none.
They call me Darth...

The "purple"(!) ball is my kensai/mage, totally invulnerable
to all forms of damage and spells, while she drains some levels
from (Improved) Demo...

She has IIRC: Mirror Im, Blur, Prot from Mag. Weap., Prot from Energy,
Prot. from Magical Energy, Spell Trap, Imp. Haste, Black Blade of Disaster,
Fire Shield Red AND Blue, Spirit Armor, Spell Immunity: Abjuration,
Spell Immunity: Divination (his minions can no more dispel my spells!)
and other stuff...
ALL casted in front of Demo himself with the aid of Improved
Alacrity...

And you like spellcasters because of MAGIC MISSILE?!?!?!?!?!

We have really different opinions I think...

@Littiz, neato, but sarevok doesnt look to good...
Health I mean.

Hey, my pc is a lvl 14 Bard kit, I can't exactly pull that off. I know there are some neato tricks to be done with contingencies, I have soloed a sorc, but man, having 4 people doing it at once is just neat. Great for killing those damnable greaterwerewolves in TDD. They can't be hurt by ANY wpns, not even Holy Avenger scratched them. There are about 12 of the buggers, but I took em out with only 1 rest to restore spells. 4 volleys of MM, Then a volley of acid arrow, flame arrow, more MM, then devolves into whatever offensive spells I have handy. It's NUTS. So many graphics firing off against those buggers.
The waves came crashing in like blindness.
So I just stood and listened.

Ahahah, you're all too fun, guys! :)

Well, though powerful, Sarevok remains a simple fighter...
of course he gets wounded! In the first try, he died, yes.
But I wanted to try again, as he died already once against
the Cambion...
Believe me or not, from THIS situation, he survived!!!
I just activated whirlwind ONLY TO FLEE AT MAXIMUM SPEED!!
:D

Then he quaffed an antidote and 5 extra healing potions,
while my little kensai/mage, as always, was taking everyone
out of trouble...
She killed Demogorgon and all the astonished demons!
No contingiencies, nor triggers needed this time!
Immie too was able to do some damage, but before she had to
lower a bit Demo's magic resistance...

P.S.: As you may have imagined, the purple color comes from
the combination of the two fire shields (blue and red).
I know, not really very powerful, but it's cool!!!
Demo strikes, I suffer no damage, and he DOES!!!!! :D

Why don't you just ctrl-y your enemies?
or hack your char so that everyone dies when you
pass by... :)

I mean, User, I know you have fun with that things, but
you are not saying that those char are "better" than our
"normal" chars, are you?
They're hacked after all. :)

I have mentioned this to sabre and others like xyx and so forth who have (patiently, :D ) put up with my threads about hacking the heck out of chars, but seriously, I really enjoy more than playing the game seeing how far I can stretch the game engine to get over powering characters. in another words, I am the dedicated classic car dude who spends all time and money improving his hot rod, beyond any rationality, and never drives it, much.

keeps me out of trouble.... :p

Keep it up!!
I'm waiting for another story as the one of the "Darkened Aerie",
who was happy when you killed paesants!!!
That was great!!! :D

(the fact that I'm Neutral-SuperGood doesn't mean I cannot laugh
at this! lol :) )
