Difference between difficulty setting in IWD and HOW

Post by Troll Slayer »

I was wondering if a player only gets more experience for kills in the heart of fury mode. I am playing on insane with a level 3 party, and I seem to be getting the same exp points as I did when I played the game through on the normal setting. What difference does each difficulty do?

Secondly, is there anything that effects what random items you get. I played through the game once already, and felt I got the south end of a north bound bull in terms of good items. I see from this site that there is a whole bunch of items that would have better suited my party. Did I play the game wrong? Can I do something, other then hacking, to effect what items are dropped?

Thanks in advance,

As i understand it you only get more experience in the HOF mode, alsoif one was to play on easy you would get less XP than normal.

Again as i understand it is entirely random and how one travels through the game doesn't effect the items; it is decided at the start.

In additiont to Mr Sleeps comments.

Lower difficulty - monsters easier to kill (up to 50% weaker)
Higher difficulty - monsters harder to kill (up to 50% tougher)

I shall have to check on the relative XP - I think it only reduces for lower difficulty.

HoF - monsters more difficult to hit and damage, they do more damage to you. Up to x2 hit points. XP values is upped considerably.
