Memorable moments..
Hi all,
New year is coming, X-Mas just went past.. Time for memories
What are you rmoment in-game, which have made you smile for being funny, or growl for being silly? Sometimes such moments occur..
Possible spoilers as well
Just had 2 such moments day or two ago. My ranger named Diesoon (named so because I was soloing him and wasn't sure whether will go all the way to the end) went to Twisted Rune. I wasn't sure of the outcome, as the tank type against the casters.. Well, pesky. I did have the Shield of Balduran for the beholder and Azureedge for the undead. So I save the game outside since the door is trapped. Forced the door open, soaked the trap (actually resisted) and went in. Slapped what weak buffs I had, more for personal reassuring then the effect heheh.. And went into the bigger room. Lich (Shandalar or whatever it's name is) came out and the game paused - I have set it to pause as soon as enemy is visible. So I clicked on it to attack it and was pretty sure that it will take some time. After all, with his luck all the dang undeads always saved against death and Azureedge didn't kill them as nicely as I would liked. Anyway, as soon as I unpaused my char made a swing, but then the game goes into dialogue mode, pauses. Well, the axe did NOT pause heh. So the Shandalar tells to me "Stop" and then - BLAM! He's lying dead on the table! Doh, that sure felt funny, seeing as the usual skeletons even almost all the time saved against the axe and I was expecting a BAD fight with that lich. Shortly the vamp there came out and BLAM! Vamp also fell heh.. Suffice to say the fight wasn't anymore so hard and I got the cool, albeit useless, staff to myself.
Funny also is that after I came out of there and fought lateron some band, they summoned some sad skeletons and those rolled the SAVES against the axe so much, that I just grabbed another weapon and one-hitted the dang skeletons..
Another was with Grae, the quest with the Limited Wish scroll. I decided to be benevolent and generous to the troll and when she screamed for mercy, I told her that she can go. She was thankful and surprized, but I was just feeling generous. I have done this quest numerous times before and done so too. Always worked but not this time. Basically it was like this:
Diesoon: You may go.
Grae: You are... honorable? I must flee!
Diesoon: did 41 damage to Grae
Grae: Death
Oops! There's moral to the story - always sheathe your Vorpal Blade when you decide to let someone to go.

I had a similar experience with Grae. She decided to beg for her life a split second after the last Melf's Minute Meteor had left my hand. We talked a bit while the meteor hung suspended in mid-air, and when the talking was done it hit her in the back.

This really amused me...
I was going into the tower of Deirex the Lich, and just over the threshold I paused the game while he was still blue, and before the cutscene started. Anyway, I clicked on the attck button, and had my party attack him...
As it happens when the cutscene started and he made his little speech my party was attacking him. *snicker* And he died before I even got pulled away!
Hilarious.

I once managed to Dire Charm Deirex with an Illithid Control Circlet before I was taken away. He still had a green circle when I got back.
Still had to kill him, of course, so I conveniently got him to stand in his own Incendiary Cloud for a while.

I found this one amusing:
Played a Paladin and tried to role play as well as possible. Started the Mae'Var quest and went to speak to him. He tells me to steal the thing from the temple, and I just figured that a real paladin, upon finding himself in that situation, would have a slightly different approach that was offered in the dialog. Told him to stuff it and then ripped his head off. Renal was displeased. Especially when I took his head off too. I think I might have gotten Gathed for that one, though.
I noticed last night that is you fail a theft attempt on Gorch in Mae'Var's guild entrance, you do get Gathed. Splat!

"He's dead Jim - you get his phaser and I'll get his wallet."
I love this story.
I have managed to kill both the Shadow Dragon and Firkraag without taking a hit. Though the Shadow was a bit harder. The Shadow Dragon retaliated before he died, unlike Firkraag.
Firkraag's story is funny. The stupid Red is boasting about how much he hates me, and that he can kill me with a whim. So, I was not pleased by his boasting. I killed his little mage anal-buddy, and rescued Galen's child. I went back down and had a bit of fun. I raped Firkraag! I summoned a whole bunch of nasty monsters, including the Fire Elemental, and the Efreeti with my bottle. I set up my sorceress with a Spell sequencer (Instant 3 Magic missile). I had my animals attack, as well as Keldorn and Minsc (has Crom Faeyr). Even though the dragon has magical resistance, he took all the MM hits... interesting, no? I killed the stupid Red before his circle changed!! My reward?? Minsc is WEARING Firkraag, and Keldorn is my mage-killer with Carsomyr!

I remember the Deirex case too heh.. Sipped the Oil of Speed, put on Boots of Speed, entered the Deirex's house. Hit 'Pause' as soon as I was in and attacked Deirex (he was blue still). As soon as I unpaused the main char took off towards the Deirex and then the Deirex started to talk, after what I got the cutscene of him moving towards my party. Just that the main char was still pounding on him during that scene heheh.. So Deirex took 2 steps and then was sliced to pieces.
With Shadow Dragon I did once the overkill as well. When I first time got there, my party was too low to mess with it. So I came back later. Buffed up, went in and surrounded the dragon (had wardstone on me). Pressed the force attack and... Minsc with a Vorpal Sword slew the darn worm right where it stood. It didn't even manage to speak a single word. All that buffing and preparing for naught..
Also in Planar Prison, went one day alone against the Warden. Was at 50% HP, maybe tad more, from previous fights (berserker char). Got killed by a single spell during the fight, didn't see which it was, probably Finger of Death or whatever else, didn't see really, was too schoked hehe.. Anyway, reloaded the game (saved after the Master of Thralls), this time slapped some buffs on, put on Boots of Speed, sipped Oil of Speed, Enraged, Draw Holy Might special ability and charged in. And... hit the Warden once, it was a critical hit, screen was shaking for some time and Warden was killed with a single hit! I didn't see the damage it took, but it definately wasn't too low on HP, because before the death scene I was beating hard and a lot on him, and he lived still. Well, I was sort of again schoked and forgot to take a screenshot hehe..
In any way, such overkills at times are also funny.

I went up against Kangaxx, but forgot to bring a +4 weapon. Desperately, I tried the Improved Mace of Disruption and killed him with the first swing.
Same stuff when I decided to fight the Lesser Demon Lord in the Drow temple. No +4 weapons, but then I remembered the Mace and killed him in two lucky hits.
When I fought Jon on the Tree of Life, he came at me to Maze me. I was unprotected, and being solo, would be killed by the Maze. I ran from him and pelted him with Melf's Minute Meteors while he followed. The Meteors never hurt him, but two ranged off-hand swings from Crom Faeyr did him in.

I remember when I was in the Crooked crane (or whatever it's called) and I talked to the couple upstairs. I told them to do as they felt, that love is all that matters. They agree, and walked away, happily. Then I went downstairs and talked to the man sitting next to the table. He said they were thiefs, and he was not so fond of the ones who brought them back together. First time I got REALLY surprised in this game.
I'll kick ass in BG2.

I remember once when i had just gotten BG2, i was at the inn at the city gates (where the Lich is), and i saw a secret door. So i opened it and went down and found a Lich waiting for me. I didnt know how hard he was yet, so i tried to run up the stairs. Three of my party members made it up, but for some reason, there was another Lich waiting for me when they got there. So half my party was still in downstairs fighting one Lich, while the other half was fighting the one upstairs. I managed to kill them both, and luckily got the exp for both. How that Lich turned into two, i dont know.
