I am now subscribed to the One Word Stroy thread, but I don't know how or why or what that means...what's subscribing all about, and if I need to, how do I undo it?

Subscribing to a thread means that each time a new reply has been posted you will be notified via email. You can also subscribe to a forum if you what to be notified for every new post/thread.
I believe there is a limitation though for the e-mail notifications, you only get the 2 first reply until you visit the forum again. As of how to undo it try user cp. :)
