New RPG format?

My good hobbit, this RPG category has been around so long that even the elves acknowledge its antiquity. It dates back to a time before time, when the only other things that existed were the Sea, the Gods, and **** Clark. Yes, it's that old.
In other words, it's old, but Fable's still got it beat. :D

Frodo, Bilbo, Sam, Gandalf and the elves like to sing.

I think it is likely that Merry and Pippin are bards/thiefs. Neutral Good, good in dex for being quite and average stats.

Sam and Frodo are more accomplished thiefs but they can't be evil, so they should probably be bards. Sam could be a swashbuckler because of his fighting capability. Neutral Good, very good in dex, better strength for Sam and higher wisdom for Frodo.

Boromir is human no matter how you cut it. The fact that he is a proud son and got drawn to the ring should make him would make him crap a normal fighter. Chaotic neutral, with good strength and low wisdom.

Aaragon can be a fighter/ranger, as he was in exile and then had to fight back his crown. Lawful good, good strength, good charisma, high wisdom.

Legolas as archer and Gimli as fighter are pretty much agreed on.

Gandalf uses fire a lot and therefore should be an invoker by trade. He is almost immortal, therefore he levels could be very high. Probably kensai/mage with level 2/60 Highest intelligent, very high wisdom and lots of hit points because of his high level.

Bilbo has to be a thief, as he is poisoned by the ring.

I also thought Saruman had great powers because of his ability to suggest. He locked up Gandalf because he talked to him when he was off-guard. Neutral good turn neutral evil with highest charisma, intelligent but only average wisdom.

I liked the way Bill and Shadowfax were used in the book. Not sure why they did not mentioned them in the movies though...

Boromir is most certainly not chaotic nuetral...

As in the movie where boromir is portrayed as this brooding untrustworthy guy who could turn evil at any minute your choice of alignment is an equally gross assumption in that you have the benefit of knowing what will happen

If you only read up to before the breaking of the fellowship and not the chapter itself you would see boromir for what he is, a trustworthy and stoic companion, if a little dour and unreasonable at times he is certainly not a flippantly unreliable person as a chaotic neutral alighment would suggest.. nor does his alignment change, the best of em get corrupted by the ring frodo himself is corrupted by it in the end but he is no less a hero for it, Boromir as he says was taken by a madness and did not know his own actions

Btw, the prospect of Gandalf litteraly cleaning house with a plethora of invocations doesnt really tie in with his character

The istari where sent to middle earth not to fight but to inspire others as gandalf does with theoden, frodo, ect ect he should have massive charisma but be more focused on spells that help his friends rather than blasting his enemies as it is not there place to use there formidable powers against the enemy although they will if it is absolutly necesary (Gandalf is the same manner of being as Souron though not as old or powerfull)

YAAAA Someone FINALLY came here!! Outstanding! Hurrah!!

As for Boromir, yes, he is pretty stoic and trustworthy, I'd be more tempted to have him as a Lawful Neutral.
As for Gandalf, his offensive spells that are seen are either fire or electrical based, and just because he doesnt fire them off every second doesn;t mean he never casts, theory is that he is trying to hide from Sauron.
