Keep on losing stuff?
Keep on losing stuff?
Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had the problem of losing items throughout the game. So far I have lost the following:
Gesen's Shaft
Wave Bladehead
Nymph's seeds
Gem Bags w/ multiple gems
I go back to old saved games and they are there. I realize that some spells may cause your characters to drop their items, but I thought these were only equipped items. At any rate there doesnt seem to be a pattern in why this is happening. Anyone have this happen to them?
Thanks in advance

That's another thing I thought of. I played the original bg and I would always sell to the same merchant(Copper Coronet, merchant) I made sure that he keeps anything of "interest there" such as unique weaps, and to top it all I also left all the finished quest items in a sac in the kitchen of the Copper Coronet. It seems to have saved everything, but once in a while I lose stuff. And btw what's this about efreets?

Your kiddin me? Seriously? I obviously did not know that. Thank you, I have had numerous fights with efreet, chances are that is what happened. One final question Rapier, are these items just in your inventory or equipped, because if they only eat up your equipped items, this still does not solve my problem.

Actually I believe that it is the Nishruu/Hakshear and not the Efreeti that "eats" your magical items. Really they are supposed to just "eat" the charges out of magical items but instead they "eat" the whole thing.
Do you have the patch installed???? (I think that this has been fixed in the patch)
Please correct me someone if I'm wrong.

On the same thread- a while back i had haer'dalis in my party and he got killed. when i went back for his stuff (before resting) i couldn't find it for love money or anything! i was down in the sewers at the time, and i tried resting but it was still gone.do efreet live down there or has the game just munched my stuff itself?
Karembeu is right in that it's the Nishruu/Hakeshar that eats magic items. This has not been fixed in the patch, wich only fixed the fact that wands could get negative (read infinite) charges. It is however fixed in the unofficial patch that I listed in an other recent thread (jus look for my name. I don't post many threads).
If items vanish for you mysteriously I recommend downloading the shadowkeeper utility so that you can get yer items back again, saving a lot of frustration. The gods know that my poor familiars are happy that I did that myself.

The Nishruu and the Hakeshar are both monster that mages can summon and they don't appear anywhere else in the game exept when summoned by mages. The scrolls are found in random encounters and on a few select merchants. The summon Nishruu spell will however always be on Lethenians body after Hendak kills him.
