My vote, of course, would be Solaufein (mmm mmm). I imagine Minsc would be a hilarious, if very loyal and (too?) protective. I've never actually had Haer-D'alis in my party, but the poetry spouting might be romantic... Or too annoying. Anomen is a JERK

Minsc? If you don't mind driving him to therapy 8 thimes a week and vying with a rodent for his affections
Anomen comes across as a jerk for a while at first, but he's not really. He's just very insecure and in order to feel worthy in his own eyes he thinks that he needs to build himself up to others in an arrogant way. After a while he does start being honest with the PC, saying how self-doubting he is. His apparent arrogance is just a cover.
What about Valygar? He seems pretty cool but I haven't ever kept him in my party for long after the Sphere. Or Cernd? The quiet nature-boy type. Opinions on these two?...
Edwin? Not if you're a paladin

Ah, forgot about Cernd. If you're into nature, I'm sure he'd be great
He might get too philosophical, though. Not sure, I haven't had either Valgyar or Cernd in my party long enough.... And I suppose it's true that Anomen's angst is just a cover, I never got to the romance part. Really must try that sometime, despite his initial jerkiness . Edwin? LOL... Ahh, I've only played good parties so far, but maybe if I could keep a neutral rep...
Do so. If you give him a chance to find out WHY he acts as he does, he recognizes the kindness and non-judgment of a friend and he changes. You must be patient though. He's got a lot of internal struggles to work out and you'll have a couple of...rough patchesOriginally posted by Ieo:

Hey, doesn't it say in the BG2 Handbook that Sorcerers have dragonblood in them, from which they drive their innate spllcasting abilities?
WARNING!
For all you Sorcerer lovers out there, before you consider slaying Firkraag, keep in mind that he may be your great, great, great, great grandfather.
Firkraag: Gorion never told you what happened to your great, great, great, great grandfather.
Sorcerer: He told me enough. He told me you killed him!
Firkraag: No, I AM your Father.
Sorcerer: No, that's not true! That's... that's impossible!
Firkraag: Search your feelings, you know this to be true!
Sorcerer: NO!!! Nooooo! (sob sob)

AHA! The Star Wars analogy is complete:
Imoen, the long-lost sister, whiny but not afraid to take life into own hands...
Gorion, the aging teacher who conceals your past from you...
The main character, a slowly progressing hero who tries to discover his/her own destiny and fullfill it...
Yoshimo, the bold, adventurous smuggler who is always looking out for himself but never misses a good fight... SPOILER
dies. Oh, well. Maybe they'll bring him back in Throne of Bhaal:
Main Char: This is starting to sound a little old, but didn't you DIE a long time ago?
Yoshimo: You see, that priest at the temple of Ilmater had a carbonate-freezer in his backyard, and he found the body somewhere...
Aran Linvail: Yoshimo's old crime boss, whom the thief owes a little sum in "unpaid debts"
Irenicus - The brooding, unattractive purely unadulteradly evil lord of the universe with a REALLY bad make-up job, also (!!!) shoots lightning and laughs at the "puny" efforts of others to kill him...
Who's missing?
The REAL, ugly, old, powerful father with a cool voice - who but Firkraag?
EMINEM, more dialogue please, that was hilarious!!!!!

Firkragg-We meet again, when we last meet you were the master and I the student now I am the master.
Gorion-You cannot win Firkragg, strike me down and I will became more powerfull that you can imagine...
(P.S. for Yoshi lovers out there, he is not coming back in ToB....)

Lightsaber: "Obi-Wan's blade"
Speed factor: 0
Counts as a +3, +9 vs. corporeal matter (not elementals, wraiths, spirits, gods, etc.)
Upon every succesful hit, victim must save vs. limb removal @-2 or suffer the following:
25% chance of death
25% chance of slow
25% chance of blindness AND deafness
25% chance of stun
Saber throw: target is selected, upon which the saber is thrown at him/her. The saber instantly destroys all non-saber weapons, armor, and anything else that gets in the way. After all his/her items are destroyed, char. must dodge (save vs. spells) or be instantly killed.
When equipped, all nearby enemies are awed by the power emanating from this weapon, and must save vs. wands @-2 or run away in fear for 1d4 rounds
Saber can be transformed into:
Katana
1d10+3
THAC0+4
+2 to AC
+4 to AC vs. missiles
each hit against a non-lighsaber weapon of +2 enchantment or worse forces victim to save vs. spells or have his/'her weapon instantly destroyed

Spear (2-handed)

THAC0 +6
AC +2 vs. missiles
each hit vs. any non-lightsaber weapon of +4 enchantment or worse forces victim to save vs. spells or be instantly destroyed

Let's carry the analogy further:
Keldorn Firecan - Quai Gon from the Phantom Menace as the veteran warrior and teacher of...
Anomen Delryn: Young Obi-Wan, his headstrong apprentice who desires nothing more than to become a full Jedi-Knight, or in this case, a Paladin of the Radiant Heart.
Malia D'Arnise: She is none other than Queen Amadala, another royal damsel in distress...
Amadala: "Please, you have to save my home from the evil clutches of the Trade Federation!"
can be transliterated to:
Nalia: "Please, you have to save my home from the evil clutches of Troll Federation."
Boo: Must be R2D2 - after all, they speak the same language: "squeak squeak, whirr, whirr, wheeet, wheet, tooooot, squeak, wheeeeet, whiiiir, squeak, whir, wheet... "
Well, perhaps only when Boo is in heat.
Hey, I just thought of something. The entire concept of the Force, with its dark and light side - couldn't that be related to
the Spirit of Bhaal you possess, and over which your character must struggle to take control, lest it overwhelm you the way it did Irenicus? Oh man! I ought begin another thread to explore this idea. The possibilities are endless!
Ehh...I mentioned Cernd; but again I never actually had him in the party so I didn't know his history...Originally posted by Huskylaw:
Who nominated Cernd? Remember, this is the guy that loved his wife so much that he leaves her and doesn't even find out that he has a son until you come along. Funny how no one said Keldorn either.
EMINEM, you're cracking me up with this stuff...

Hmmm:
Anomen: he'd be fine once you worked through his issues
Valygar: This is the second time I've had him in my party. He's the quiet, decent sort, so he might be alright
Cernd: too much of a flake
HAER'DALIS: An even bigger flake
Minsc: There's probably too much you'd have to teach him, and besides, I don't think I'd enjoy sharing my bed with a hamster.
Keldorn: Far too much the older, fatherly type, although I've never had him in my party so I don't really know him
Jan: I'm not even going there
Yoshino: enough said
Korgan: probably a woman beater
Edwin: too many gender issues......
So yes, it would have to be either Anomen or Valygar, unless of course Soloufein was an option......
