A bard of course. Level up fast (you're probably used to that now), all weapons, armor while spellcasting, familiar, use instruments, bard song, pick pockets, high lore, UAI... Correctly played, the bard will be the backbone of any party.

If you have tried all the fighting/thieving classes, you can perhaps try less popular classes, such as bards or druids. :)

Are you sure you can cast spells while armored (no elven chain I suppose)?

Has to be the Melodic Chain or an Elven Chain, of course. But isn't that armor to you?

Well, a Bard was an option for me too, since im a real life bard (*cough* jam the guitar) and play a bard on EverQuest (read: EverCrack), druids seem quite boring to me, but maybe thats cause EverQuest druids are lame, never tried one in BG2, and they are probably entirely different from EQ :p

Somebody tell me how druids are, and what kit to play, for both the Bard and Dr00d

Yeah bard is good especially blade!! But then again there is Haer'dalis.
My advice is to play as a straight kensai. They are a lot of fun.

Dazzo, you are in luck! There is a druid thread here that has Y'shania's druid character that is interesting to follow.

You can do a search in this forum for more info.

Try going solo. I have found the solo approach to be fun and challenging. Don't get me wrong - I like the NPC interaction - but after a few times through the game it becomes rather repetitive. The challenge of a solo trip through the game can provide some new twists on strategy.

My last time through SOA was with an assassin - I had a blast - sneaking and backstabbing, trapping and stealing. Getting hold of Celestial Fury at level 9 was one of the toughest and most rewarding things I have attempted in the game.
