I am playing with a female PC and have Viconia in my party. It was much to my surprise when she began initiating romance dialogue while fully aware of my PC's gender (she referred to her as "woman")
I have downloaded both the multiromance patch and the Solaufein mod. I know that both Aerie and Jaheira can take an interest in a female pc with the patch installed, but they both seem to think that they are speaking to a male.
I have done a search on this question but have found nothing..... While I am not concerned, I am curious; has anyone else ever experienced anything like this?

I believe that all the multi-romance patch does is enable multiple romances, but does not change the romance dialogs themselves, hence the strange inconsistencies.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...
What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

Yes, Sojourner is correct about the Multi-Romance patch. The patch changes the script of the NPCs so that they will romance any gender/race PC, but does not change the dialogue that they have for the romance. The reason why Viconia refers to you as "a woman" is because in some dialogues they use 'codes' (don't know what else to call them) instead of normal texts.
Example:
<PRO_MANWOMAN> - replace with "man" or "woman" depending on the PC's gender
