Disappering items and Daystar

Post by LosPantalones5 »

I found the short bow of Gesen shaft while doing the tanner quest, and ive kept it until about chapter 6, but it seems to have disappered! Several other players that ive talked to have noticed the same thing, and they did not drop it or sell it, it just disappeared. Could someone explain, or tell me if the also have had the same experience? Also, I have Daystar, but the Sunray ability doesn't always work. I will click on it, but it will just go back to the sword icon when I put it over the creature instead of the spell icon. Has anyone else experienced this? Could someone explain?

I am not sure about the disappering items but the daystars ability only works once per day which means every time you either have to recharge it by resting or waiting a day.

Sometimes you can lose items without realizing it. If your inventory is full, and you complete a quest that gives you an item, you will drop enough items on the ground to make room for the new ones.

Also, there was a bug I believe with the Nishruu eating magical items. Instead of just draining spells etc, they actually wind up eating items. If this is the case, get the latest patch.

outside of that, I have no other ideas.

I realize that Daystar only works once per day(im not stupid). I never have used it before because it never works, therefore negating the fact that it doesn't work because it only works once per day. Maybe, im thinking, the patch will change things.

Unfortunately, there is a problem with Nishruus/Hakeashars eating various quest items in BG2:SoA. Baldurdash has a fix for this here. Once a nishruu has eaten an item, the only way to get it back is to cheat it in.

The item codes for the Short Bow of Gesen are:

BOW19A - Gesen Bow Shaft

BOW19B - Gesen Bow String

To use the DayStar's special ability, equip it in a weapon slot, then click on the backpack icon on the main playing screen. Click on Sunray, but do not target anyone, or you'll cancel the spell. ;)

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.
