Try a "looser" class, like Beastmaster and Wizard Slayer. It would be harder, but more fun (in my opinion)!! Image

I'll kick ass in BG2.

I got bored too, until I ran a BeastMaster on insane difficulty. Really puts the thrill back into those goblin battles. I would also suggest playing a totally different class like Totemic Druid or Bard.

I think both Monk and Barbarian inspire boredom because after level 14 or so you can blindly throw them against 99% of opponents with almost no strategy involved and watch them hack-n-slash to victory. Especially true of the Monk with his Magic Resistance.

Also with the Monk you run out of good magic items to lust after; when you have gauntlets of crushing and a ring of the big G, that's about as good as it gets. At least with the barbarian you can look forward to Crom F and somewhat better armor.

Also upping the difficulty factor worked for me somewhat, but even on insane difficulty Monk/Barbarian are a breeze. Try a less powerful class, NOT a mage/sorcerer of course, they are effected almost nil by increases in difficulty (which adds to melee damage and monster HP's I think...if your Mage is in melee you are, of course, doing something wrong).

Yea my skald (bard) is fun to play. I have minsc tanked up perfectly so he wades though most encounters quite easily especially when I have my level 21 bard song going! (+4 to hit, -4 AC, immunities). Bards have many options, although dont do them as well as other classes that specialize. However the song and the lore (!!) really give them a nice niche. And the spells are enough to last through a few battles, otherwise you have the song or a (somewhat) decent fighting ability to do otherwise.

Well my totemic druid just reached lvl 12

and it got this druid staff (+1 to 5th +1 to 6th lvl spells) and I must say she is starting to rock the house Image

I can summon a nice lot of beasties.

I got Minsc and Keldorn as tanks, Aerie as Mage/cleric Jahiera as co druid and Yoshimo as thief (to be switched with Imoen later)

You could try another game--P:T or IWD?
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Try having omissions in your party- try a party without any serious tanks / wizardry / clerical abilities / thief skills. Results in different tactics.
