Mordenkainen's Sword?

Post by Piqsid »

This is a great spell, but I can't find it anywhere in the game. The only way I've been able to use it is by inserting a few scrolls of it using ShadowKeeper. Does anyone know where I can find this spell in the game?

I don't know if this is correct, but in the Astral Prison (Haer'Dalis quest) I think one of the bounty hunters has one. Can anyone confirm/correct this? It has been asked alot.

I've cleaned out the Astrial Prison several times, but I don't think I've ever found it. I know there are several places where you get random treasure, and it's possible that this is the case with the bounty hunters. I was just hoping for a spot where I could count on the scroll existing.

Did you try the usual places like Tradmeet, the place in Waukeen's Promenade, and the Adevnturer's Mart?

Hmm ...I soloed a sorceror once and completed the Astral Prison to get the Boots of Speed. I only did the Trademeet quests and some quests in Athkatla, after which I had M. Sword spell.

I'm begining to think that it appears as random treasure, or I didn't look hard enough in Trademeet. I think I'll take another look. Thanks.

I know I found one during this time around, but not in my previous run-throughs. It might have been part of the Planar Prison quest, but I'm not sure.

As far as i know the M sword scroll is completely random. I have been lucky and have it show up on guards at the Copper Coronet, or even the Orcs in the first dungeon sometimes. My suggestion would be to use the Cowled Wizards to get one, all you u gotta do is cast a spell after you get warned and they show up, kill em all then go to sleep and repeat, each time they appear they are tougher and drop some neat scrolls (not always though), you can do this a total of five times and then you get the big battle with the toughest Cowled Wizs. Usually have some very good scrolls. If you dont get M sword, at least u get a couple level 8 and 7.

1. I usually found the spell in the Kuo-Toa dungeon in the Underdark.
2. Somebody here posted an info that the spell can be pickpocketed from somebody at the lower floor of the Galvarey's Estate. Try to pickpocket the guys there.
3. Code for the spell: SCRL8R.

One more possible location - don't know if it is random: in Nalia's Estate, when you first enter the estate, one of the chests in the room with the beds had a scroll.

Well I found it. You guys are right. It is completely random. I found it on the Copper Corrnet guard at the top of the stairs. Thanks.
