As you say, in your humble opinion, my reply wasn't helpful.
It just so happens I disagree with you in the objective sense. (You may have noticed that the original poster has since re-phrased her question into perfectly intelligible form, so she evidently got my meaning, even if others didn't).

I also re-assured you of my motives in replying in the way that I did. Your (mis)-interpretation can in no way affect an objective fact.

Despite this, you proceed from hectoring to downright insulting behaviour.

Sir Percy,

One of the things that I like about this board is that people from all over the world use it. Some of these people are not native English speakers, yet still try to do their best in phrasing their sentences.

Personally I think that your original response was anything but flattering.

I would kindly ask you to respect the other members of this board.

On a side note this is board to post things which are related to BG2. Please try to adher to this.

Weasel and Sir Percy,

This is not the place to fight out personal arguments. I would ask you both to stop this immediately.

Thanks

@Sir Percy

No matter your original intent, your statements were not well received. They were offensive to many.

It’s not about whether or not people can take a joke; it is about how you phrase them. Yours was not phrase in a way that people took it as a joke. Sorry...

IMHO, you're late. The thing should be bought *before* you get the hair. Merchant is above the Sea Bounty inn and, if you are in right moment, you cannot buy anything before you've had the proposal. Jahera would disagree, nevertheless you should ignore and follow. At least so it is on my experience. BTW, it, i believe, depends on how far you are with the romance, it do not have straight connection with the quest. We got it while still at Ch.2 and without hint of harpers save but poisoned man quest, so it might have some importance. (another question the quest was solved without finishing Ch.2, too)
HTH and not too late,

My joking reply was to a post by a "Leannajjorg"(sp?) who, to my knowledge, is in any case well-educated and perfectly competent in the english language (not that it matters).

If that poster was in fact offended by my wit, then I would humbly apologise to her.

Was she offended?

Please let me know.

To actually answer Leanna's question. Yes.

I'm playing an Undead Slayer with Aeire and no Jaheira. Romance is moving along nicely - although with a bit of clenched teeth when she really gets annoying .... not unlike a real relationship.

Romancing problem again HUH ?

OK, here's some tips for romancing Aerie :
Any of male char can romance Aerie. The key is just be nice to this nagging girl (no offense, but she is).
*SPOILER*

there's time when you can "lay" Aerie, but if you do she'll left you the next morning.

And for romancing Jaheira is very complicated since it involves quests and timing. I haven't finish romancing Jaheira, you may try serach this board i recall one of our comrades already post some more info regarding romancing this elusive widow Image. As for the locket it can be bought when the merchant at the Dock district talk first to you asking you to buy some souvenir, i bought this locket several days after i escaped from Irenicus prison. You can't simply talk to the merchant and browse for this particular locket.

And for Sir Percy and Weasel try to take your spam art to SYM board Image Image

BTW Everyone. Make sure it is your main character that talks to the Merchant in the Docks. Jaheira must also be in the party. If you do both then the locket will be offered.

I'm afraid not. Nothing from that miserably rain-sodden country of persecuting imperialists deserves a capital letter.....

Hey, great! From bullying to clear evidence of latent racism! Fantastico!

Did you ever visit East Chermany when the commies were still in charge there? You know, people running around telling others what to do and getting ultra-narkey with people who laughed in their faces?

Ha ha ha ha ....
