Please help me with a couple of questions

Post by Sebanis »

Hiya, first time poster here, I'm playing through BG2 for the second time around, since the first time I pretty much ignored all the side quests and feel I missed out on some neat stuff. Anyways, I had a few questions but I couldn't find anything on the search so if anyone can help it would be most appreciative...

First after finishing the quest when Jan is summoned home, he says something about needing my help if ever he hears of his ex being hurt again. Does this ever happen or is it safe to ditch him for good now?

Second, after I got Nalia out of jail whenever I move her out of the party for space she repeats the line she gives me the first time I got her out, something like 'thanks I owe you' and there is no option for me to tell her to go back to the Copper Coronet or somewhere to meet her later on, she just waits wherever I ditch her. This is more annoying than anything else as I end up having to plan ahead and ditch her beforehand, so I'm wondering if it's a bug or if there's anything I need to do to get that dialog option up.

My last question is just an opinion, but I'm torn between keeping Mazzy or keeping Keldorn in my party. Both are pretty good in my opinion but I just can't decide. Anyone have opinions on this?

Thanks for the help!

#1. Dump Jan if ya want. I had him for a really long time and the ex never came back, So I think it's safe to assume he won't be needing you anymore anyways.

#2. Nalia did the same thing when I got Imoen back. There is a CLUA code that will bring a charactor back from wherever they are, so you may want to ask around. Just dump 'em and use the Code if you want her back, though I don't know what it is. Somebody else around here may know how to spawn Nalia...

#3. I'd say you should ditch Keldorn. The Carsomyr is good, but what fun is the game if you kill all your enemies in one hit? Keep Maz. She's good as a fighter because she has the paladin ability Lay On Hands, though it isn't as good. But still...

Hope it helps ya out!

First off, welcome to the forums!!
1) Keep Jan around, hes a good guy to have around.
2) You can dump any char any time, by pressing the Character (R) button, and then click on Reform party. Then select who you want to axe. They line comes up to stay where you are, or meet at the CC.
3) 2 of the best fighters in the game. One rocks w/Short Bows and Halbreds spears etc. Mazzy is a fighter and therefore can achieve mastery in every wpn. Keldorn has plenty of special abilities, is stronger, but less dex. Wiser and more charismatic. And can use Cary and X-bows well. I prefer Keldorn for his dialogue.
The waves came crashing in like blindness.
So I just stood and listened.

For style I'd go with Mazzy. For usefulness take Keldorn -- those extra true sights are very nice and the double level dispel magic is just godlike.

I love Keldorn, although Ive never played Mazzy before. Keldorn can use Carsomyr, is a dab hand in Crossbows, has all those mint abilities. Dont think of him as a Paladin who cant use turn undead/spels, think of him as a warrior who CAN use Carsomyr and some great abilities....his dialogue is interesting sometimes...
