Malchor Harpell?

Post by Aqua-chan »

I'm not sure if this is a glitch that I haven't seen the patch for, but if there is a patch, please don't bite my head off!

Anyways. The last two games of SOA (I love the fact you can play it over and over and over...) I noticed that after I kill Bodhi, this mage in green robes keeps popping up everywhere I go. He teleports in when I move to a party-required area. Strange, ne?

Well, the thing is, I can't save the game when he's in my sight. It get really annoying because when I try to move away from him, I get attacked by monsters, occasionally killed, and have to start from the auto-save.

At first I thought he was a Harper because that lil' incadint with Jaheira at the Docks District. It got to the point where I wanted to know what he wanted, so I tried talking to him. Of cource, he had nothing to say to me. So then, I resorted to more...aggressive measures.

....437 Damage Points later, I established that Mr. Malchor Harpell wasn't going to die.

So, um, help?

Actually, Malchor Harpell is one of the few immortal chas in the game. He followed you becuase you are EVIL and you'v killed Drrizt!!!! :p :p :p :p
I cannot be caged.
I cannot be controlled.
(I probably cannot be contained either) :p ;)

Understand this as you die,
ever pathetic, ever fools.

Malchor Harpell is the guy who shows up to confiscate Drizzt's items from you. Normally, he talks to you and takes the items, but sometimes a bug will occur and he'll follow your party around. Try dropping any items you collected from Drizzt and his friends and see if that helps.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

Thanks, Sojourner. I'll try that and see if it helps, but I've had pne of Drizzt's Scimitars for a really long time (And that Drow got reeeeeaaaally mad when he saw I had his Scimitar), but I guess he only pops up after you encounter Drizzt whether you killed him or not (whish I didn't! :p )

Thanks again!

So there is absolutely no way to keep Drizzt's stuff!! What about his companions stuff?
Real commanders display their battle skill on the front lines.

I've got something to say to you dwarven bigots: "Harglukkin phuul naubol jhal waela rothen ulu ussa!"

He died a natural death as a dagger in the chest naturally kills you.
