@ Aqua-chan

I've been thru the game quite a few times solo, it's really not that hard, however I would not suggest taking a druid thru as a first attempt. If you do a search on the word "solo" in the forums you will find HEAPS of posts with tips and tricks about playing the game with only one character. Also check out the main Gamebanshee BG2 page, in the startergy guides there's a section devoted to soloing either SOA or SOA & TOB.

The first time I went thru the game solo was with a Fighter/Mage/Thief. This character is an excellent intoduction into the solo world :) You get your thief skills enabling you to backstab, hide in shadows, pick pockets etc. The backstab and hide in shadows is EXTREMELY useful when first starting out. You get spells like stone skin, melf's minute meteors, blur, breach, skeleton warriors, and any other useful mage spell. There's also the fighter aspect of the class, which is good because you are actually able to do some melee work ;) You can't really do this with a lot of classes when going solo.

If your seriously thinking of going solo, do some research in the forums and the Gamebanshee site, there's loads of tips to get you started, and help with any of the major parts in the game.

Keep it coming :) I've never solo'd a druid before, it's one that's interested me for a while.............. I'm curious to see how it all turns out.

To Arch_Angel

Thanks for the tips, I do appreciate it. I tried playing the Fighter/Mage/Thief in a single-player session with only Anomen and Jaheria as backup, but it took forever to level up, really. I can only imagine how long it would take if I filled up the entire team with up to six people. Yeesh...

But, I'll folow your advice and do some reasearch. I guess I'll have to see what'll work best for me. I've always been a melee, get-in-thier-face-and-chunck-them-all kind of person...Heh, that's probably what's going to get me killed a lot, huh?

Thanks again!

The F/M/T I would only ever use as a solo character. They do level up slowly when in a group, but like any character going thru the game solo they will level up quickly. I would never take a F/M/T into a group.

If you continue to have a lot of problems soloing the game why don't you try taking a custom small group of 2 or 3? My preference would probably be something like a Beserker/Mage (dual), Thief/Mage (dual), and a Ranger/Cleric (dual, so that you get both the cleric and druid spell schools ;) ) Don't forget that you can chage the game difficulty to easy if you are having problems with the melee areas. But really it all depends on what type of characters you like to use, and work well with.

Doing some research is a good idea :) If you need help with any particular areas just post and someone will be able to walk you thru it. Good luck! :)

So keep it all comin'. My Third charactor class is depending on you!...

Fighter avec Totemic Druid

I don't know about soloing Baldur's Gate 2 - I'm not crazy enough to try, heheh - but I'm playing a character that's a Totemic Druid / Fighter - 12/8.
I chose this because levelling to level 12 is very easy for a druid in the beginning - only 300000 XP necessary. Then, I dual classed to a fighter and at the moment I'm having to do without the druid spells or totem spirit animals but I have to admit that as soon as I reach 12/13, I'm gonna rock! Basically, I'm going to be your cool pure class fighter (only hindrance being a smaller selection of weapons) with a bunch of druidical spells (up to lv.6 spells) and spirit animals - all for the small cost of 300000 XP.
What does everyone think?
Check it out! One of my earliest, and certainly, more creative threads! :)
