import/export issues

Post by Machai Soulwind »

Ok ive run through the game a couple of times..and do have a few characters that i like to just play around with with some of my friends. Now I am sure this has been discussed before at some point but anyone else notice some character changes on export or import to ToB from SoA? Just as a few examples....

I have noticed with my dual class wizard-slayer/thief when i export i lose all set snares (not the special traps tho) and the wizard-slayer MR..maybe the chance to cause spell casting failur as well. Yet if i save character in SoA and import into ToB i get all of that back..no way to get it in SoA tho without going into shadowkeeper.

Noticed with my druid and barbarian that thier class resists (fire/cold/acid/electic for druid and crush/slash/pierce for barbie) when saved in SoA and then imported into ToB get doubled..tho no problem with that if saved in ToB...and at somepoint barbie looses his +2 movement.

any patchs out there deal with this? and yes do have the badurash and offical patch both....might probelm be in the order i installed?

Have you played from ToB straight after the SoA? I mean, I've never exported my character to play ToB. I played from the final save in SoA, then continued into ToB, rather than starting new game from ToB. By doing so, I can keep the all the attributes and characteristics, as well as the experience points during the final battle with Irenicus in the Hell.

I'm no expert on games (or computer for that matter), so I hope someone can come up with more solution for you. :)

oh aye i have played all the way through with no problem. Its when i and friends decide to play together...and i go to import one of my characters that i got. Usually when we play I use one of my maxed out characters that i notice some of these.

Actually notice the loss of MR and set snares with the wizardslayer/thief when I went to export him to get valgar (sp?) for the planar sphere quest and reimported him..aye was playing a multi-player game with 6 of my guys at the time.
