Poll: coolest class

Post by Dúnadan »

Which class do you think has the highest coolness factor? Sure, mages never get the girls, but can a brawny fighter destroy a nation with a only couple of words and a flick of the wrist? Personally, I think a lot of the classes rock, but Paladins rule (Or at least they would if they had their warhorse). What's your opinion?

Mages are cool, but I still prefer fighters. Nothing like good old hack and slash.

I like the Sorcerer / Mage class too.
They have the coolest paper doll and avatar when they're all kitted out.

Props to ranger/clerics. These characters are incredibly fun to play. I'm dual wielding the mace of disruption and a +3 club right now, combine those with a casting of creeping doom and cruise thru most fights. Awesome.

Undead Hunter, IMO. Considering the legions of undead one encounters in this game...UH's can waltz right up to a vamp with the Mace of Disruption, no hold, no level drain, and watch them get smashed to smithereens

Undead Hunter and Kensai and/or Blade :D

Undead Hunter with either Carsomyr or Mace of Disruption :) never tried Daystar with my Undead Hunter...

Kensai and/or Blade because I like the kinda flashing longsword and flamboyance and swirling around with blades whirling death... For practicality, they're also pretty good- I love melee!

Swashbucklers are also cool because of their little flamboyant dash and charm ;)
Haer Dalis- Ah, my raven, this be the grand city of commerce. Mayhap we can sell Jaheira?

Well..., it depends upon how big an army that "brawny fighter" has at his disposal. Genghis Khan and Atilla the Hun could have done it, to name a few. :D

My vote goes for a kensai. Sure mages wield incredible power, heavily armored fighters are nigh-invincible, but a kensai is just plain cool. Not the most powerful class, mind you. Bards are the jack-of-all-trades but masters of none. A kensai is the opposite. They focus all their attention on one thing; they are masters of combat with their weapon of chioce. Who else can walk into combat without aid of magic or armor or special abilities (i.e. monk) and kick some serious bottom? Just a cool class.

Honorable mantions:
Paladins- especially undead hunters and inquisitors. Righteous AND cool!
Assassins- one stab one kill. Snipers!
Stalker- stealth and backstab yet fights like a fighter. The perfect recon unit.
Sorceror- the ultimate flexible spellcaster.

Just MHO.

Definitely a mage. And who says mages never get the girls? Has anyone here read about Elminster's history? The number of times he's made out in his lifetime, one'd think he fathered the whole human race on Faerun!

I think that with the possible exception of certain bard and druid kits (although I'm sure that a player generated bard or druid would be way better than either HD or Cernd) all the classes are pretty cool. I'm quite attached to my fighter/mage, but next time I may go for the Kensai, Monk, or Paladin undead hunter (yes, most handy in this game). They all have their strengths and weaknesses, so for me character generation is as much dependent on my mood as anything else.Although last time, I also wanted to avoid having to recruit certain mages....

bards hold my heart but the coolest kit would have to be the kensai.

with grand mastery of katanas, with single and dual weapon proficiency, boots of speed and the cloak of reflection. i wumped irenicus butt in 3 seconds, when the first time through took me 5 minutes of pure sweat and terror.

my advice, hit them fast and hit them hard.

If I have to vote for coolest class i would have to say that it is a tie between blade, jester and swashbuckler. I am not saying they are the most powerful classes but IMO the coolest.

Dual class ranger/CLERIC. All cleric spells, all druid spells, fighting ability as a fighter, ability to wear the best armor. Walking disaster.

Has anyone else noticed that in the manual it says druids can dual/multi class with mages? Too bad that isn't in the game. That would be cool!
