Magicka Potions

Post by Mercury »

Am I missing the clue about Morrowind or just some places to go? My problem is that I started a Battlemage and wandered from the starter town till Caldera, visiting a handful of villages on the way, but could not find more than a few minor "restore magicka potions" even in the Mage Guilds (Balmora, Caldera). How am I to practice magic if I just can't recharge the magicka after a fight unless I rest? Because of this I battle with my axe but I really would like to cast powerful spells as well. Is there a way to get large amounts of those potions or is it just the way the game is set?

I posted a topic yesterday that covers a fix for this from the developers. As for reacquiring magicka, now, I generally rest in a safe place. If you want potions, consider checking out Balmora.

SEMI-SPOILER:

alchemy skill rocks. i rarely rest now. you can make yer mana potions cheap. and money wont ever really be a prob cuz you can make potions and sell em back to the vendors. ingredients for 5 mana potions will run you about 300-310 gp (thats 2 stacks of 5 ingredients). they give about 14pts of mana for 25 or so seconds, which is almost full mana for me. mana potions arent the best form of income with alchemy tho. you can make really cheap junk potions (drain personality for instance) and sell em back for lots more, especially once you get really good alchemy equipment. (i finally got a full set o grandmaster last night). definitely recommend alchemy for all mages. good luck

Or you can make your character with the absorb spell sign, Atronach, conjure up an ancestor ghost and attack it till it gets mad. Fills up your mana bar pretty quick.

Makes you wonder how long that bit of cheese is going to be in the game, though. I know that Bethsoft is aware of the unlimited enchanting bug, and they're working to fix it. Wouldn't surprise me if they also dealt with this cheap method of reabsorbing magicka. ;)
