@Shack, welcome to the forums. Plesae read the site owner's sticky thread at the top of the category about posting spoilers, and how to go about doing it correctly. That post of yours about the boots of speed really needed something like:

before it was placed up here. We've received complaints about this kind of thing put out in the open recently, and would appreciate your not doing so, in the future. Thanks.

voodoo you havint even played diablo and yet your stating it to be like a diablo game... your a hippocrit.
@Wildvixen, consider yourself warned. I'd just gotten through stating a few posts above yours that flaming is not allowed by the site owner's rules--not to mention that your remarks are completely inaccurate, since Voodoo Dali had plainly stated she was hypothesizing based upon what she'd heard about a product.
Once again, this is a public forum, and everybody is entitled to their opinion on the subjects under discussion, provided they state them in a conversational fashion. In case anyone has any questions about Buck's rules, you can read 'em here: http://www.gamebanshee.com/sitefeatures/forumrules.php

Voodoo, it's perfectly fine to have your own opinion about the game. Please just stop saying it takes forever to travel though, we have given you at least 6 ways to travel much faster. What bothers me about "reviews" like yours is that people who haven't bought the game yet read it and decide not to buy based on your comments. I think it is unfair to both the developers of the game and people who haven't played it for you to post such a "review". Lack of party adventuring in the game is a perfectly valid complaint, saying travel time is long and tedious or that the game is too hard are both just plain wrong. I just want to point that out to anyone thinking of buying Morrowind.
To me it is just a little unfair to fire off critiques about a game when they are factually flawed. Imagine how it feels to be someone over at Bethesda, who put years of hard work into this, to come to a forum and see a post like that. I am all for pointing out real flaws in a game not for slamming a game before you have taken the time to find out if your criticisms are valid.
I guess all I am really saying is try and remember that people are affected in real life by what you anonymously write and post on forums. I would hate to see these guys lose sales because someone read your "review".

Personally I like the travel I like wandering off and exploring the areas, I would have never found some of the things I did without wandering about getting completely lost. I've explored a shipwreck, a few tombs and an underwater grotto with pearls. I like checking out the wilderness and findind some alchemy ingredients or getting a chance to practice my spells and skills. It's a matter of personal preference I suppose.

Nicely put Zantax. Voodoo, if u're into a little more action then trust me DS is more for you. If u're more into thinking, strategy, and dynamics then I'd say get this game.
That's just what I've noticed so far. I myself am more into rp'ing and the diversity of what you can do and I bought DS but after just a few days of play it bored me and I may have kept playing it if Morrowind wasn't out for me to play. Me, liking the complexity of a game and the freedom to do what you want to an extent, made Morrowind a sure choice for me.

I don't think @Voodoo Dali is an action fiend. I suspect she wants to go directly from quest to quest, which is the way BG2 and PS:T are structured. Those are among her favorite CRPGs, and mine, too. It takes a bit of time to get used to Morrowind, and to realize that you have to aggressively seek out quests; and that much of the fun comes from ignoring quests, and just exploring to see what you can discover.
@Voodoo Dali, have you tried moving to one side or the other of the road? Examined the flora, checked out the nearby dungeons, watched the critters roaming around? The countryside may *look* pastoral, but there's a lot going on if you explore a bit. Unlike the BG series, you don't simply get quests and do little else; you acquire quests by seeking them out, and there's much to do outside the standard questing trail, as well. I picked up a scroll of Divine Intervention in a tomb guarded by some rather enthusiastic skeletons, and found a nice, homey cave to call my own and drop off stuff once I'd dispossessed the rogues and freed a few slaves.

ok well i was showing my opinion. I guess showing her opinion was ok, but when i said voodoo was a hippocrit ... now I wasn't looking for a flame war, and if she was mad i am sorry. I thought we were allowed to show our opinions... i guess not... im just more of an outspoken person, and i notice you also deleted some of my other posts as well... which wern't really did not break any of those rules... yes i read all your rules beforing signing u[ and posting... i always do, because out of respect to the web owners.
I am also a web master and a part of a web site. Our forums have the same rules no flame wars, and no swearing...we also let people show there opinions, but we don't delete peoples posts just because they are talking and joking around and having a good laugh over morrowind.
theres a differnce in flaming at someone, and showing your opinion. If you telling someone your opinion you talk about somthing you do or do not like be it crutisizing somthing, or talking about how great somthing is.
a flamewar would me to come in here and start swearing at people, and being rude. which i have not done in here at all.
i see people in other threads spouting off like this was a gamespy forum lol but do people say anything to them... no because it's all in good fun and good taste.
anyways voodoo i am sorry i called you a hippocrit. I was showing my opinion on your post which i thought was off based. Oveously i cant show my opinions about other peoples post, or joke around with the guests that visit here...
anyways fable im out of these forums for good. You simply say to people that they are allowed to show there opinions, but yet i cannot. I also notice you guys are so strict with how many posts people post, or what they are about... maybe you guys should have a general morrowind thread?... maybe you would have to keep posting rules about spoilers all the time. You seem to be always trying to find someone or somthing that you can do... your like authority... you like power and your all too willing to use it.
anyways take care all it's been fun and thnx for the help through this great game! check out our forums somtime. EVERYONE is welcome.
im out for good... i kinda felt i was in the pbs network anyways lol

I agree. A difference of opinion is expressed by writing, "You haven't tried Diablo, so you may be misinformed about the gameplay." Flaming somebody is a mater of saying, "You're a hypocrite." The latter is an insult, plain and simple. If I say the former, I'm saying as a submessage that I respect the person I'm addressing. If I state the latter, I'm saying I don't respect 'em.
If you want to continue this discussion, PM me and Buck. Otherwise, let's get back to the business of airing our opinions of Morrowind--in a friendly and respectful fashion.

I agree that what you said wasn't called for and shouldn't have been said that way. If you disagree with something someone said then you can say you disagree cause everyone has their own opinions but no need to start bashing them personally... leave the bashing to the enemies in game
Also, Fable I hope u're ok with me now after all that happened but hopefully you know by now I was only teasin you. Plus Wildvixen if you are a moderator yourself you should know that Fable can't let certain things slide through or before you know it all the forums turn chaotic... and none of us want that.

Personally I prefer wide open forums. I really dislike any form of censorship, whether it is to spare someones feelings or to keep it rated pg or whatever. I know no one asked me but I just thought I would weigh in on the subject. About the only thing I consider valid for a mod to do is delete spam.
Oh well it's not my forum so I will certainly abide by the rules here I just wanted to let it be known I think such rules hamper discussion and inhibit community. If someone wants to be a jerk I say let em, that way I know who is a jerk and who isn't. Obviously such calls are highly subjective and I have found that having rules like those only lends itself to mods kicking people who don't think like they do, imho thats a bad thing. One of these days I'll get around to making a gaming forum and then it will be no holds barred fun.

It's absolutely necessary to follow the guidelines Fable has stated above about spoiler warnings. Everyone is at a different point in the game or possibly even hasn't gotten it yet, we all need to show a little care and not ruin a surprise for people.
I think the travel time in the game seems a little long at first when you don't know your way around. As your character develops, and you gain speed and athletics, a quick run down to the Bitter Coast is no big deal at all, if anything it seems a little short to me.

It is getting easier, you're right. Now that my athletics skills is up to 30+ and my speed is high.Originally posted by THE JAKER

I want to clear up the misunderstanding that I don't like this game! Some of the posters are correct that someone might read this and not buy the game which would be a shame. I think that I assumed everyone here liked the game and I only wanted to post some of the negative things that were occurring to me, since the positives are obvious--however I hadn't thought about those reading this who have not bought the game.
The graphics are truly amazing. I just got a new PC with an nVidia geforce 4, and it is the perfect game to show off what the geforce 4 can do.
All of us at GB have been dying for more non-linear games, and MW is by far the most non-linear of all.
I like the fact that the game isn't the typical elves, dwarves and what not. Some of the creatures are really weird and unique.
It is addictive, and anyone who knows me at SYM will know I am speaking the truth since I haven't been at SYM in a week!!!

anyways I believe this is the dwemer cube quest from Hasphat. Basically instead of trying to jump or cross the bridge try this. At the entrance of the area the bridge is in to your right is a bunch of bolders, they seem impassable but if you jump and stay along the walls you will eventually get up to the otherside.... remember keep jumping. Not really worth it, but if you feel like fighting check it out, other than that not really worth the effort. Hope that helps
