What's a good way to equip Imoen after you get her back? Do most people turn her into an archer/mage and avoid melee like the plague? Anyone use Tenser's and other spells to make her a melee monster?

Archer/mage has always worked for me. Give her the short bow of Gessen and the Quiver of plenty (if you have ToB) and she does quite well.

Give her the staff of magic too (unless you are using it already), so she can raise the spell trap and becoming invisible (improved) she can scout and find traps.Originally posted by Ode to a Grasshopper

When there is to fight keep the staff, throw in some spells and equip the bow; if she gets melee attacked reequip the staff so she can sneak away.
perfect lompo!
Keep her out of trouble!
I do exactly the same!

It really depends on who I have in my party. Sometimes I give her a X bow, like the one you get from Adalon. Or the gloves of Ogre strength and the giant hair X bow. Firetooth Dagger is good, and there are plenty of good Short Bows. I have equipped her with Cutthroat +4, and with Longswords once in a while, but the problem is that she really, really sucks. Imoen and Melee = dead Imoen.
The waves came crashing in like blindness.
So I just stood and listened.

My Imoen wears Elven Chain, Girdle of Giant Strenght, bracers of archery, with Staff of Magi and Gesen Bow, Boots of Speed, ring of regeneration, ring of acuity and amulet of metaspell influence.
Once the bladesinger mail is gotten she will wear it and have it upgraded in TOB too.
She can hold her own in melee fights with common monsters, only a bit slower. Most of the time she is still the archer, the theif and most importantly the mage.

I'm afraid I can't just give a simple yes/no answer without knowing whether you took him to Brynnlaw. If so, yes. If not, no.Originally posted by josh
I had Yoshimo in my party. Can I get the stuff I equiptted him with back after I get Imoen?
Just a simple yes/no answer please.
Highlight the following for SPOILER detail:
Yoshimo will betray you in Spellhold and you'll have to fight him later on. You can retrieve any equipment you gave him off his body, along with a quest item. However, if you kicked him out of your party before travelling to Brynnlaw, you'll lose any equipment he carries.

I was going to say highlight for spoiler: Yoshimo betrays me in Spellhold but I didn't think I needed to.
