Banks, Storage, & Experience

Post by happyclappy »

A couple of questions - Sorry if these have already been mentioned before, but....
I remember that there were banks in Daggerfall where you could put spare cash and it then wouldn't burden you down by having to carry it around all the time. Is there anything like this in Morrowind? I have only really just got the game, so haven't been able to explore that much :(

Also, is there any safe place where you can store loot & stuff where it won't disappear or get stolen?

Finally, where is good to go at the beginning of the game to go up a couple of levels?

Any help on the above subjects would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance :)

someone has made a house in balmora, one of the biggest cities in the world, that you can take over after killing some rats from inside. thats where lots of people are storing stuff.

Storing

Killed a guy on a quest in Vivec, sT. Olms Canal lower level 2 is
his apartment/abode. AFter I killed him, now the apartement is mine. I guess. Go back periodically(that is where my single mark/
recall is), to make sure that the stuff is still there.
Main problem with game now is only one mark recall, maybe it goes up with my ability(?)

storage

easy.. join one of the guild houses.. find a room with a bed.. usually there are empty chests in there unlocked. i store all my stuff in the chest and marked my spot there so i can recall too.

so if i need rest or gear its all there.. its not like a multiplayer game where it can be taken.

You can carry any amount of money, it doesn't weigh anything, so you don't need abank. You can get access to different places to live in some quests, clear out a bandit cave and live there. You can 'remove' a shopkeep and take over their store. I took a bookstore to be my place.

I'm pretty sure to Mark you just have to successfully cast the Mysicism spell 'mark', which you can purchase from various mages in guilds etc who have spells for sale.

I did a little mark/recall action on my most recent mission. I was going somewhere where i knew there was bound to be a bundle of treasure, but my character only has about 80 free pounds carrying capacity. I cast 'mark' in my shop. As I gathered treasure at my destination, I piled it on the floor in one spot - probably 400 lbs of treasure. When I was done, I picked it all up, cast recall, shazabooie! I was back at my store. Works like a charm.

I know people are saying it sucks to only be able to mark one place, but having played Might and Magic 8, where you could mark 4 spots, plus teleport to each town center, I know it gets silly and easy.

I got Might and Magic 9 but it appeared to suck so incredibly badly that i tossed it quickly. How can a game go downhill so much? #8 was way way way better looking, better written, better everything. I'm thinking of M&M 8 because the alchemy system sort of reminds me of Morrowind. It's fun.
