Fighters guild debt collection quest, HELP

Post by Bert Raccoon »

fighters guild in Vivec told me to collect 2000gp from Lirielle in Ald'ruhn

She says she doesnt have it and her husband was seeking his fortune in Mallapi

I went to Mallapi and killed all the things that attacked me and found his body, collected all the stuff, but no 2000gp, and there is no other money in the cavern that I found, just books so what do I do?

Same thing happened to me in the preview build. My guess is it's a bug. Do not go to the guy at the Vivec Fighter's Guild to complete the mission though, until you know you can lose 1000gp, which he WILL take, even though you don't have the 2k. Quest will be completed though.

Hopefully someone will have found the 2k.

Mind telling me where Mallapi is?
'Just to the northeast of town' my ass :P
Looking and looking and looking...
It isn't the cave just to the northwest is it? (Saint something something)

A friend of mine did this quest and said after he killed the people they dropped stuff that sold for over 2k gold easy. As long as you return with 2k in your inventory and they are dead, you finish the quest.

Quest Debt

One of the really dumb stuff in this game,(the game is great generally, so far) is that you PAY debts for quest completions etc.
Had another one too, where I paid a Quests 400$ debt, and he
thanked me....-400. thank you. This quest also, where you essentially pay 1,000 to complete it, unless ya loot the guys in
Mallari, which I will do now, since I have been puttin this one off,
since I always had more to do with me septims.

I think it's refreshing in a game that they have guilds with the occasional quest that you do just for advancement. I think of it as paying my dues to advance. Most of the quests in the game reward you substantially.

If you talk to Percius Mercius at the Fighter's Guild in Aldruhn before you do the debt collection quest, he tells you that he doesn't trust the leader of the Balmora Fighter's Guild and that he thinks it's not a legitimate Fighter's Guild quest. He suggests that you pay it yourself. I assume this will affect my relationship with one of the houses or guilds down the road.

Very interesting. Still somewhat of a broken quest though IMO. I really didn't mind paying the 500 gold (net) again this time around, but there should be some indication besides stumbling upon a random NPC and finding out it's a bum quest.
