It works!!! sorta...stopping beholder anti magic ray...
ok, playing the sola mod, and spawned kurosian, the acid samurai, and got him after several tries and tried a bunch of stuff to drop his combat protections...ring of ram works, and use gem bag trick to quick recharge, finally waited for spell immunity to wear off,a nd breach him and whackkk....
but once time, tried hitting him with bun bun special, hive mother anti magic ray.. cuts thru spell trap with ease...nada!!!
ok, so i thought, hmmm..spell immunity abby protects you against breach and other nasty anti protections stuff, so maybe anti magic ray is abjuration too...
well, its true.. just did beholder dungeon, gosh, improved mind flayres are hard, but improved beholders are no different than before...
so i wnet in with spell immunity abby, and some elder orbs hit me with anti magic ray, and my spell immunity stayed up!!! wow... really got something there...hit the hive mother at end, she took it down...but regualr anti magic rays did squat to me...
now the owrst part about beholders is anti magic ray, so this tactic is wonderful....fear anti magic rays no longer, spell immunity abby will protect you, except hive mothers, they are evil...

The anti-magic rays are what make the beholders a royal pain. Need to do more testing, but so far it seems that they're not scripted to use anti-magic rays in the Unseeing Eye area, pre-Underdark. So, your PC can drink a couple of potions of Magic Resistance and solo those nasty beholders without taking any damage from their rays. In the Underdark and in Watcher's Keep, it's a totally different story. Their anti-magic rays will remove effects from any potions, including Magic Resistance, in no time flat. In these areas, it's time to pull out the cheese.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...
What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

Did immunity actually stop the ray or did it just not get dispelled by it? If I do breach from 1 group member to another it bypsses immunity. Is this some weirdness just because they were both friendly? In other words does breach actually get stopped by spell immunity when cast by or on a hostile NPC?
Hmm, ive used some spells to get past Spell Immunity Abjuration before, but they have been spells that belong to more then one school (like Spell Thrust) and just figured it was the dual nature of them that allowed them to pass.
But, maybe Breach and other dispelling spells go past spell immunity. May have been added as an exception for balance reasons (theoritically, its possible to be invincible otherwise)

oopssseeee....
just erased all my saves...finally figured out a possible reason for my spawn bugs since installing sola mod, and deleted a buncha saves including the underdark to verify it.... going to replay them...
the easy way to tell is if anybody has got them, send in a char with spell immunity abby and stoneskin up and running...yeah, i've punched thru spell immunity and breached enemies and whacked them without worrying about the whiffle ball...
somebody with a save try it out, and post here...

@Aranan: thanx, but...
I've been trying for 4 days...
3 members are not enough maybe...
I have to deplete ALL of my abilities to pass the first part of that battle...
And it takes always 40 minutes...
then Big M starts summoning all the dwellers of the lower planes,
and I have really nothing more to use.....
Keep trying..... will lose my sanity...... my health........ my....

I have just hit the underdark and unfortunately spell immunity abjuration does not stop anti magic ray. It doesn't get dispelled by it so atleast you wont be imprisoned but it takes down all you other protections and you get spell failure. I know anti magic ray is abjuration so it ought to have stopped it but I guess it is kinda like protection from magic scroll.
I am going to stay in the beholder lair for a long time and work out a nonn cheesy tactic for taking downn these beasts.
They are much harder than mindflayers unless you cheese them.
