Silent Nalia?

Post by Rail »

Has anyone had any interractions between Nalia and another NPC? I've done the de'Arnise quests, but so far Nalia hasn't had any dialog with another party mamber other than the main PC. All the other NPCs seem to have dialogs planned with other NPCs except for Nalia. Is there anyone out there who's had experiences different from mine? I like Nalia (I know I'm in the minority here), even though she does have some LAME quotes and battlecrys, but not having her interract with other NPCs gives her a lack of depth that the other characters have.

I'll just hang up and listen. :)

She should have at least one dialog with Arie and some funny interactions with Jan.

She has some interaction with Viconia and Valygar both of whom seem unsure about her concern over "the less fortunate". But largely she doesn't seem to interact that much. Although I've never actually kept her for an entire game, so others may be able to offer more on the subject.

When I was in Ust' Natha, Nalia and Haer Dalis' had a rather amusing discussion on taverns... ;)
Either than the one with Aerie, that's all I've heard from Nalia :D
Haer Dalis- Ah, my raven, this be the grand city of commerce. Mayhap we can sell Jaheira?

Yeah, nalia and aerie get kinda friendly. Each interaction between the two hints toward their wonton lust for one another. Or maybe that's just the sick and twisted images that pop into my head when they speak to one another.
Very well, hi-ya

*grumble, grumble, grumble*

It must just be me. I've had Aerie in my party the entire time and they've never said a word to eachother. Maybe I ought to rest for a week straight.

I'm glad to see there's some semblance of depth in her character interraction. It'd bug me if the programmers left out the development of a few of the NPCs while overdoing some of the annoying ones (Jan- don't get me started). Why would I be concerned?!? I must've been at this game too long! :p I'm seeking therapy.

Actually, in the game that I'm helping my small son with, Nalia and Yoshimo just had a conversation in the castle celler about the danger of traps. That really surprised me, because it's the first time I've seen it. Yoshimo was attempting to coach Nalia on the subject and the dialogue was quite amusing.

Nalia and Edwin have a couple of dialogues together; I think one about their differing magical talents and backgrounds.
Korgan flat out tells her he hates her guts at one point.

LOL Rail :D

It must be you, I have also have friendly dialogue between Nalia and Aerie, and not so friendly but quite entertaining dialogue between Nalia and Jaheira. And in both games I've played, I kept Nalia in the party for a very short time. Strange.

I find it really hard to get on the game without Nalia, as she was both my backup mage and thief so I kept her since the Keep was restored and my fighter PC became Lord ... but I didn't get any Aerie/Nalia interaction either ... really STRANGE, huh?

Is this because I'm romancing Aerie from the start? (okay, so I'm a girl with a male PC, but Aerie was more worth romancing than Jaheira, as Jaheira can neither fight nor blast, and was always the one that gets the worst wounds and cause the party to have to sleep for days.

I know this is getting off-topic, but anyone think I should woo Jaheira back from the Harper Hold? (or maybe it's too late to woo her back ... it's been weeks since she left her bye-bye note)

Aerie asks Nalia at one point about helping the unfortunate, and Nalia's response is quite intelligent, although I won't spoil it completely  . Sorry if that sends you over the edge Rail, just remember - it's called a healing crisis :D

Also Viconia has one of her nasty little spats (like she seems to have with just about everyone - she's such a racist!) with Nalia.

@Fatale, I disagree about Jaheira. I used to skimp on giving her the good gear, and felt as you do, but point for point she's a better tank than Viconia IMO, and Fire Elementals and Insect Plagues can be pretty handy.

But I had the Aerie romance active when the above dialogs occurred - they'd both been in the party for, oh I don't know, 12 days or so.

12 days? I had both Aerie and Nalia for more than 40 days! Nalia never said anything ... this is REALLY strange ...

As for Jaheira, nope, I didn't skimp on giving her the good stuff. In fact, I gave her the second best protective gear I had available, and armed her with the bloody red club that you can buy from Deirdre (I forgot the name of that weapon) ... but I do agree on her usefulness when it comes to fire elementals. It was because of the summoning that she won the Druid Grove challenge too.

Anyhow, she's back in my party for now, cos I'm kinda short of fighters at the moment :D
