I was wondering if anyone in the Gamebashee forums actually play Magic.

And how do you make a poll?

Well, I think it is a safe bet that many of us DID play MTG at one point...

At one point for me...a very short point at that.

As for the poll, just start a thread and ask people to say yea or nay. The poll option on the board is really redundant, why? because most will tell their opinion of why they choose Yea or Nay.

The other reason...people will have little restraint and have 99 polls running....everything from
"How many steps to your Bathroom"

3. 30
4. Over 30
5. I have an Outhouse in Washington.
6. I gave up using bathrooms.

I played it for a while, until the need to make money produced so many cards and completely unbalanced suits. Still have the old Microprose computerized game, which wasn't too bad (if you discount the rule bugs they never fixed).

Yeah, I used to play magic...Still got my trusty white deck as well. IMHO it started getting a bit silly around the 2nd(?) Urza cycle... I recently saw a bunch of kind of novelty cards, with stuff like Dr. Seuss spoofs and all kinds of silliness. Ice Age was great though...

Que? I've never heard of this...was it good? Worth buying?

It was fun: sort of a third-person, turn-based strategy game, in which you faced neutral monsters and wizards traveling over an isometric countryside, in battles that involved magic duels. You could also buy cards in towns, on the main map. The AI was actually pretty good, and the object was to prevent any of five wizards (naturally) from taking over a key number of important places and destroying the land. You were a sort of defender of the faith. You still might be able to find a copy somewhere.

Cards were limited, however. Microprose added two more groups of cards over time, but they never completely fixed the rules set, so that Prodigal Sorcs could do 1 point of damage without tapping, for example.

I have that game also fable, it is pretty good ur right. I still play Magic, but with its severe dying out, I have no more opponents. My red-white heal-fast attack deck is awaiting some opponents

I used to play Magic- but I stopped ages ago. First of all my cards were terrible, since I couldn't keep up with all the new ones, and second of all, I was really, but really, bad at it.

I played for a few years and when I quite I had over 44,000 cards. About 9,000 were rares and only about 2,800 were really cool. I just got burnt out and I gave (yes gave)

allmy cards to the owner of the shop that I hung out at.

I played MTG till Stronghold came out. The problem with Magic The Gathering is that, nowadays, they're mass producing cards/series with all new features and you can't defend yourself without buying a new deck (e.g. shadows

).

I played from mirage through apocalypse. Yes, I got on the wagon late. I held off for as long as I could because I knew once I started, the obsession would run as deep as baseball cards. I collected to a point until I began to play competitively. That got old fast because the game really loses its' fun at a cutthroat tournament level. Some of the people playing relied on the game as a source of income.

I still have all my cards but don't play much anymore. After a point you realize the cards are just repeating themselves from set to set with a few additions of game mechanics per cycle (echo, fading, shadow, etc...)

I think the most fun I had playing the game was getting to a point where I could build powerful decks. After that, I would only settle for 'four of this power card' or 'four of that power card'.

I've been in it since Revised edition, and I'm still playing it today. Out of my group of friends at home, it seems all but 3 or 4 play. Yet we don't buy new cards anymore. I personally stopped buying when Mirage came out (I think I've gotten 6-8 total expansion packs since). With a bunch of the abilities that are uncounterable w/o new cards, we just choose to play w/o those abilities.

It was a complete pain when my friends had shadow and I didn't, so they just stopped playing with it. We have enough cards and decks for great variety with the old sets, so we see no need for buying new cards.
