boots of speed headache

For some strarge reason, my Kensai suddenly doesn't get the speed boost from his boots of speed. If i have another character use them, they work fine. If he takes off all of his equipment save the boots, there's still no speed boost.

Any ideas?

Two things...first, are you sure there is no item or magical effect that would grant the Free Action status to your Kensai?

Second, once you've verified none of your items grants Free Action, have you tried removing and re-equipping the boots? Last time I had a character who was wearing Boots of Speed put on a Ring of Free Action, the movement speed did not go back up when I removed the ring until I also removed and re-equipped the boots (to "refresh" the haste status, I guess).

Hmm, damn ring. Did take it off but did NOT re-eqip. I'll try that this evening.

really simple.

take off the ring, put in back pack..... unequipp reequipp boots, put ring back on...

its reflex for me every relaod...the benefits of ring makes it wroth it...

will protect you, amazingly, from not only hold and slow, but i have seen it protect me from charm, chaos and other spells...

amazing item, well worth the bother...
