Go T.o!
Go T.o!
Well, those SOB's finally did it! The Toronto Maple Leafs have made it the Conferance finals, and are one step away from Lord Stanley himself! If things go well, this could lead towards the greatest cup match I could ever want. Detroit and Toronto. Even though I want the cup to come home (just like those nice little golds we picked up
) I want Detroit to win... What a dilema!

@crazyman, That joke just NEVER gets old... I mean it, it is still funny, even after its been done to death by every comedy show around.
@ Thorin. Ever head of the Montreal Canadians? Also known as les habitants. Why? Because they OWNED the Stanley cup 5 yrs straight! They've won it 24 times! More than twice any other team.

The waves came crashing in like blindness.
So I just stood and listened.
So I just stood and listened.
Detroit loves to choke against Colorado. Don't count out the Avalanche. (Of course the 'lanche will win tonight...who would bet against Patrick Roy in a game 7?)Originally posted by Aegis
Detroit has San Jose/Colorado down, no question about it.
And Carolina is going to b wrecked by Toronto.
As for the Tomonto Maple Loafs.......I don't think so. Pray Sundin gets healthy, and Ron Francis gets injured.
So, here is the way it will be.
Carolina in 5
Avalanche in 7 (If they happen to lose to San Jose...Detroit in 6)
Sorry Aegis, I just cant stand the Leafs....only team I despise more is the Stars.

Did'nt the Habs get put out by a team from Carolina ?? and they won 24 titles when there was no european and asia players playing when only canadians played !

@McB: Don't mistake me for a Leafs Fan
I don't think you got the number of the teams yet. Granted Colorado will take San Jose easily (Go Roy!). Detroit, though, if you have been watching their games, has coasted through the playoffs. They haven't needed to play their A game yet, and they are really the only good team that hasn't lost any vital players to injuries. Detroit is in the finals.
Toronto, on the other, has Carolina in the bag. Carolina got lucky with Montreal. The Habs began to slack in the last two games, giving Carolina a bit of a header. The Leafs though have really stepped up their skills in the past series. If Sundin were to come back, then not only would they be able to play effectivly, but they'd have their leadership back. Leafs is in the finals.

The fact that the wings have about eight hall of famers might be a reason they are coasting through the playoffs. San Jose, lucky to be this far and no chance against the winner of Col/Det. Toronto and Carolina are playing for a nice consolation prize. I can't remember the last time Toronto won a game that meant anything. Oh well, I should talk, I'm a bruins fan. One and done by the Habs once again, all too easy.
At McBane, why hate the stars and leafs so much. Wait a minute......you're not a blackhawks fan, are you?
I thought there kind was extinct.

I like detroit's chances aegis, despite roy's greatness in the playoffs. As for Toronto, who knows. Carolina's played pretty well but I'd give the hunger to Toronto. Now that they are in the conference finals, the city must be awfully pumped up to see them have a shot at Lord Stanley. I'd say the cup is going to the west this year though.

A long time Wings fan, Aegis? or short time wings fan? Either or, why? Interesting, I was in Lansing, Michigan on business back in june of 1998. I was in town the night the wings won the cup. What a ton of fun. Great sports bar by the hotel, lots of drinking, and the bacardi girls running around the bar in halter tops flirting with all the boys. It was a good night.

I still am a Hawks fan, although the owner makes me question that loyalty every year. Dallas Stars....ugh! they are still the NO Stars to me. When my first son was born, Detroit was playing Colorado, and I had to hold my son close to the tele and chant.... Detroit Sucks! - Ahh, the old Norris division.....
LMAO about the stars and wings. I, too, miss the good ole divisions. I also miss hockey night in canada and tom mees. Ah, the old days of my pop taking me to the boston garden to see the B's. Orr, O'Reilly, Cashman,
