Does Expansion mean no BG3?
Baldurs Gate 2 Expansion officially announced = Very Cool! Only thing that concerns me is that the ad says that this concludes the BG storyline. If this is true do we kiss our high level characters goodbye, or can we expect to be able to import them into a new storyline of a future game? Please dont let me down Black Isle!
From what I have read...you will be able to import your character to NWN...the only thing will be your level will be reset to one...
For BG3...>maybe if it is made< it will deal with the offspring of your character from BG2

personally i don't really like the offspring idea, to be honest, it sucks, and it will just get the story line on and on and on and on and on and on....... till the world destroyed, means we could have unlimted BG series, and unlimited ways to kill your offsprings, and the game will finished in low.
i want the game finishes at it's climax such that i can remember it for the rest of my life and remember it as one of the classic game ever!! rather than i still could play BG100 when i retire.
i do enjoy this game, i do love the game continue PROVIDED THAT it has good story line, and has none of the crap which i just said.

Weasel, what I read was that you can import your BGI or BGII characters, but unless you start over at level one AND unless your stats, etc. conform to 3rd edition rules, the character will not be legal for the NWN character vault. You would have to play only in online games that allowed non-Vault characters. Also, apparently, no matter what, your level cannot excede twenty because that's where 3rd edition rules end.
What I'd like to know is where you got the BG3 info. I would like to see a BG3, but I've never even seen a rumor about it's production. You gotta keep me informed, man.

From what was said on PlanetBG, it looks like Bioware & Black Isle will be "listening to their fans," as far as the BG2 expansion goes. I'm not sure exactly what was meant, as the entire response was more related to Heart of Winter, and any details on T.o.B. were cryptic at best.
Since FR's timeline has shifted to PR (Present Reckoning) as the Time of Troubles began, the future isn't set. Who knows what sort of dilemma the protagonist character will face? To me, it sounds like he/she will in fact become the Lord of Murder, though if Bioware/Black Isle really 'goes all out' with the complexity of the expansion, there will probably be an option for the protagonist to shun his/her heritage.
Either way, a nice ending to the story.

Check the news on Gamebanshee's main page. It looks like level 40 is a possibility.Originally posted by Giles the Sorcerer:
Well, if I were BI I would let the main get to level 40, he after all is basically a minour deity isn't he? The other characters would be around 4.5 million-5 million max.
@Weasel, I saw the parenthetical statement, but you sounded pretty positive about the offspring thing. I was hoping you knew something I didn't.
What would be the point in that? Wouldn't it be like creating a new character from scratch?Originally posted by Weasel:
