Hello everyone. I just got Morrowind yesturday and OMG is it pretty! Even though I'm playing at below the minimum specs evrything still runs fine and looks great! Go figure.
Couple of things:
Can anyone give me some tips on this RT combat. I'm so used to turn based games that even the mudcrabs are kicking my butt.
If your character is hit in combat while trying to cast spells, is the spell interrupted? Does the same apply for enemy mages?
In 3rd person POV, how do I aim my bow at someone? How much range do ranged weapons really have?
These are just some of the ?'s that popped up in my first attempt. And I cant believe how small the manual is.
Thanks for your help.

i have my combat settings on "Use Best Move" meaning the computer selects chop, slash, or thrust for me. that works fine for me. i also dont bother holding the mouse button for a stronger strike. when i jump into a fight i pretty much target the monster and click as fast as i can.
if you have shield spells, cast them before a fight
quicksave before a questionable fight
quicksave often anyway (i crash to the desktop once every hour or so)
stay alert as most monsters will move around in a fight trying to cause you to lose your target and miss
getting hit prevent your casting or swinging by causing you to "stagger". i haven't seen an "interruption" per se.
you can also get knocked to the ground by particularly strong attacks. if you get hit while youre on the ground, you take extra damage. the same goes for your enemies: knock em to the ground and hit em for extra damage.
you do 4x normal damage from sneak/back attacks. i dont use this method but know people who do.
going invisible during a fight ends the fight.
don't fight 3rd person view, would be impossible to target accurately.
stick with it

Well if you are not having tech issues, I suggest you don't save often.. save every 30 minutes or so if you are after the realism factor. That way you will consider your actions and their outcomes more because you know your save game is far away and what you do will stick.
