Ebony sword in Strat Guide? *spoiler*
Ebony sword in Strat Guide? *spoiler*
Has anyone found this thing? The guide says it's near some boulders in the Odei Plateau (south of Balmora) but despite all my searching I can't find the friggin' thing.
I am with you on this one. I spent about 2 hours looking for this sword last week - if it is there its hidden darn well. I figured it would give my starting out thief a fighting chance in melee - now I just want to find it for emotional reasons...

If you really want an ebony shortword - highlight the following spoiler:
In ghostgate - the left tower - there is a vendor downstairs that has one - if your sneak is good you can steal it right from under his nose.

Shortswords are awesome! My character is a lady though but the Roman legions used shortswords and they were ALL man. Samurais had a shortsword too.
I use spears, bows, and longswords in the game too, and I want to get good with axes too but they're too frickin heavy, but the shortsword and daggers are awesome in Morrowind, you really get a sense of the speed of the weapon. They're really good for fighting the little fish.

The Samurai shortsword was a backup and nothing like a shortsword but it was a short sword..Originally posted by THE JAKER

Roman Legions eh!? There the soldiers that come from a civilisation of bum jockeys, have you seen Caligula?
I havn`t noticed TBH a problem with nonceing those fish..
We must bear these vicissitudes with patience and equanimity.

SPOILER
Must highlight to read
There's an ebony longsword in a chest in the left ghostgate tower... upstairs
Actually, it cycles through ebony weapons but after you pick the level 20 lock and open the chest if it's not the item you want just goto a new loading area and the loot from the chest will cycle again.
FYI - This happens with all chest items so if u're dealing with a NICE chest just leave the area by exiting a door that causes the game to load then go look again. Trust me it does work as I'm level 3 with a full set of glass armor and an ebony mace. It is cheesy though... but it works. I spent about an hour cycling through stuff until I got what I wanted, but now at least I have a character that I'm going to stick with. Besides my bending the system my character is pretty cool anyways. I'll post a pic of him soon.
